I remember seeing pics of this set online back in the 2000s, and being a bit baffled! I certainly never saw them in shops! As for the story on the box, based on what was written in the original series bible, the Obelisks and their creators, the Builders, were supposed to play a fairly significant role in the ongoing story and were indeed what Emperor Dark was after. In the end, all we really got to see of them in the cartoon was the episode where they find the Lost City of the Builders (Caverns of Mars).

❤❤❤ Oh wow, after a few years of my StarCom collection sitting in the display cases and gathering dust (not), I was once again gripped by collecting fever and was looking for new information about the set and came across this video. Thank you very much for all the information and my shout-out in the video. I'm really pleased that the repro stickers are useful. Nice use of cartoon clips to assist with the back story... I remember channel 4 occasionally airing the show in 1993... that same year I saw this set in woolworths priced at 29.99... afew months later is was reduced to 14.99... I never saw the Shadow Force Variant. Great video

​@lexistoyloft2641 Thank you. I have found some really useful information. Is it StarcomHQ that has the old Coleco Starcom Bible on it. Any idea what information the cartoon writers had... Most episodes focus on Mars, IO, Europa, Ganymede Lunar... So there must have been some map of battlegrounds and base interests.
