it's the lowest floor because that is the largest integer number, now it rarely matters since no one will get there usually but in games where it matters more, like cookie clicker and stuff they use different tactics like putting a multitude of different numbers, turning the numbers to letters (1m / 1b / 1t and so on) or long int which is much larger :D love the video, i miss the stardew valley days

The reason why that is the last floor is because Stardew Valley is coded in C#, basically you can make a number "Int32" which goes up to only a little above 2 billion. Or Int64 that will go much higher. He made it Int32 as that is the quickest and most efficient method and theres no point of making it Int64 as you cant possibly go that far. I hope I explained it well enough lol, thats the jist of it.

Also the highest amount of money that you can have in Stardew Valley also happens to be the same exact number as the levels in Skull Cavern so they were both coded using Int32 instead of 64 for the same reason. Hope this helps

Glad to finally see another Stardew video on your channel. I don't know if ConcerndApe increased the odds but I got the Stone Owl year 1 around summer 17th on my 1.6 save. I had one night suddenly a blackscreen before level up of my skills and the overview how much money I got. The screen was completely black with a megafone icon on the bottom left to visuallice that a sound is plaied. The sound was the sound of an owl. Took me 2 days to find the statue (ok maybe it was a bad idea to wait till night.

38:41 the reason you physically cannot go any lower is because the floor level uses an integer value (32 bits so it can only store up to 2147483647). trying to add on to this value will cause an overflow error but i think concerned ape accounted for this or at least was aware of this so it avoids the game crashing

For the Skull Cave thing at 39:43 I checked my calculator and 1 billion seconds is 31 years, so basically even if you were to take only one second per floor it would still take more than 62 years

I am, so mad. So I actually got the alien capsule event before the rates were increased. I think it was in winter of year 3 or 4, I can't remember, but I got one and being a young kid I was absolutely panicking about it. When the rates were increased on year two of another farm I was playing on due to the new update, I got the stone owl, then looked it up and found out that the rates were increased for both of them. I wish I actually had proof that isn't just me saying it happened but yea, got nothing really since that was on my old laptop.
