Totally deserved. I'm just astounded that it took us all this time to give this man this statue that he so richly deserved. What this man did after the Busby Babes being so cruelly taken apart being able to get the remaining players motivated & bring in other players & mould them into a team at short notice is nothing short but remarkable. Imo this man was just as importance to the Busby Babes as Sir Matt Busby was. He was an incredible man who played such a vital role in our resurgence in aftermath of such a tragic accident. It's people like this man that makes United such a special & unique club that is indescribable

Jimmy Murphy is remembered for steering the ship while Sir Matt Busby recovered in Munich - but he later scouted for United and recommended to Tommy Doc to sign 2 great signings in Steve Coppel & Gordon Hill pity we don't have scouts of his calibre nowadays - who have the present scouting system ever come up with? a flop in Dan James that's about it.
