A sense of humor and playfulness are lacking in many adults, they forget to have fun. Your smile made me smile when you told that story, thank you for sharing.❤

Every time that I think of that guy's look when he saw Sifu with the sword makes me chuckle! Even though it was decades ago, it's as clear as glass in my mind.

About this story, I'll simply say, "Yes." There was a morning at tai chi practice when Sifu wanted to show me how a particular move was executed, and suggested I try to hit him with a punch. I declined. He indicated that, indeed, I should try to hit him, and I recall thinking, "I'm about to get hurt," and declined again. He just chuckled and walked away. I've always regretted refusing the lesson -- the more so because, he would not have hurt me!

Sifu was always eager to show some stuff! But he was always careful not go too far. Whenever I was at P.S. I like to think that Sifu liked my young "pugnacious" nature and liked do moves on me as he also had a pugnacious nature hidden in him. He was always pairing me up against students like Carl Mack who was 6 feet 5" tall (or maybe even taller) and he would laugh as I had to run to keep up with Carl's long push in Tai shou. Part of Sifu's mischievous nature.

I remember a Sifu Randall Fung story. We had Saturday morning classes on a playground in a town called Forestville. Suddenly from one of the homes that surrounded the playground, a man appeared with a baseball bat and started swinging it at Randy's dog (tantui?). I thought this was odd that the man was doing this...especially as there were students on the playground with swords and spears. Randy calmly walks up to the man who is swinging the bat at the dog's head and asks him what is he doing. The man said....'Some dog bit my child last week" Well Tantui (?) was a very sweet dog that was not aggressive at all...and on top of it was not even there at the time of the alleged incident. Now, my memory is a bit blurry on the next moment...but as I remember it, Randy made a few quick steps and snatched the bat out of the mans hand before he could blink. Randy calmly explained that it was not his dog that bit the man's child He then handed the bat back to the man and the man went home

The dog at that time was named Ta Ta, so you were pretty darn close. Good memory. I have a photo of the class with you in the group, which I will present in a future video on my story about becoming a teacher in the future! Hope all is well with you!

What really stuck with me was your calm and non aggressive demeanor in that incident. I remember your hands at your side. Most people would be fist up at that moment...Those things are the real lessons you shared and are still remembered

When I was there, it was open from 5AM to 10PM at night, 7 days a week!

You're probably more right about the time. I'm sure that you have some stories to tell!
