That's what happens when you use someone as a crutch without their permission for so long. I can forgive Blake a little easier than their mom because Blake was just a kid who didn't mature as fast as Carly due to Mom coddling her. And that coddling is why Blake couldn't let go of Carly. That's all on their mom. But it still doesn't take away from what she tried to do. Blake has free will.

What Blake and their mom did was unacceptable, Blake haven't matured due to the mother's over-coddling. I'm still curious about the stepfather and half brothers. The father could've helped out while Carly follows her own dreams. But Blake must understand she can't rely on her sister forever. She must advocate for herself and be mature. I feel like the mother is the root of the situation, this attitude eventually rubbed off on Blake.

I'm proud of Carly for finally standing up for herself. Her life was wrapped around Blake. Her mother wasn't taking care of them, so Carly had to grow up fast and be the parent. Eli was the wake-up call she needed to live her own life. Blake and their mom were so selfish. I mean, Carly may be Blake's sister, but she also has her own life to live. She had her own dreams. This story hit hard. I have an autistic younger brother and ever since he was born he was getting way more attention. I helped my mother from a young age, taking care of him when I could or just by helping her at anything I could. Others always said how responsible I am, especially considering my age. From time to time I felt like I was the mother. Once I threw a tantrum about how much I felt ignored and how I always had to put his needs before mine. First my parents scolded me, but later they started to acknowledge and encourage me more. They are much better than Carli's mom and sister but this story still made me think. Now my parents encourage me and tell me not give up on my dreams because of my brother's needs, although the future is still very uncertain. I just wanted to say how much I can relate and that I'm thankful that msa has more stories about deeper topics.

Loved the forgiveness in this story...although I'd kind of find it hard to do that. I'm the last born in a family of four and my immediate older sister is asthmatic. When I was younger, I felt all the attention went to her and she always made me feel like a black sheep. We always fought to the extent our parents gave up on separating us. There was even a time she was having an attack and I decided not to help her. I felt really bad because she ended up spending the night at the hospital and I was home alone cause my mom had to be with her. I know you may ask of my other siblings but they're like ten and twelve years older so they were never around. After that, I kind of just gave up on hating her. I haven't forgiven her wholly as I'm still trying to see her in a positive way but this story kind of touched me. It's kind of odd because she told me she was jealous of me because I was smarter so she worked hard to also be smart. She's more hardworking than me now, which doesn't pain me that much. I'm just glad she's getting better now. Thank you MSA for this wonderful story.

I can feel Blake because it's feels like she has a form of Autism like me. I have drove people away for accidently doing the wrong things. And I don't mean it, I really don't, and I would have meltdowns over the smallest things or even things I hated to hear. It's real hard for me, it's really hard for change, I don't like change, it's just so stressful to adjust. No one can really understand what I'm going through. Not even my parents, they just treat me like a normal kid.

She went through a rebellious faze for four years, which cause her to end up both a behavior hospital and group home. Then she ended up living with my aunt in Texas, where, after a few months, she became both the top student and Honor Role student of her school, with a busy schedule.

People say how they can relate to Carly, but in my way, my life has been miserable within the pandemic caused a loss and no one in my family cared about how that traumatized me. Even my brother made it clear that no gave a shit. Sure, I made a few mistakes by not growing up with a normal intellect, but as of then and now, I can never trust my parents to listen to me, and I want to find a way to live my life away from them. And what Carly demonstrates is definitely inspiring

Im so glad so many other people know atleast half of my feelings, except for everyone I’m my family who just neglects me. Maybe it’s because I was adopted and my biological family is taking their anger out on them but it’s not my fault they tried to kill me, I was a year old and I’m sorry that I “ruined your marriage” when you adopted me. I just want to feel loved but instead I’m ignored and people don’t even try to ask what’s wrong with me. But I guess then again I’m grateful, I’m grateful they gave me a home and food, and since they ignored me, I’ve become super independent and more responsible then all my other spoiled siblings. The only really thing that comforts me is the internet. Like movies, shows, anime to say the least. I’m always distant in school but every time o talk to someone I always try to have a smile on my face and act fine so they don’t worry about me. It came to the point where I was more into other peoples lives instead of my own, honestly it doesn’t even feel like my life. It feels like I’m just a side character in every one else’s lives. I wish to one day get over my trauma, and actually have enough courage to finally talk about my feelings but idk why something is stoping me. I have terrible trust issues, and all the hate and neglect I get from home does not help it at all. I’m sorry I’m telling you this all because I know people are going through way worse things, but I just really needed to get it out. Thank you for listening to my feelings and I’m so grateful that the internet has my back. Remember I love every single one of you, I don’t know what your going through but I would love to help you through it. Thank you again.❤️❤️‍🩹

@@gracemtilatila5634 Thank you for caring, I’ve gotten a bit better but my parents are currently going through a divorce which makes my dad always talking bad about my mom in front of me. I’m starting to dislike him. But I feel like I’m being a bit more seen. I started making new friends and I’m becoming happier in school. I still am really distant at home but my life is getting better but by bit. I’ve also gotten distracted on what’s going on at home because I’ve been very busy all year. Im in theatre now and have 3 practices every week, then in tennis we started having games and I’ve also started babysitting so I can always find a way to keep me busy. And if I don’t want to be home, I’m glad I made a bunch of friends that let me go over to their house. I’ve started to get open about what’s going on in my life and I’m becoming very happy. Of course their are still down sides but it’s better than before. Thank you so much for this comment, if your going through something as well I hope yours gets better just as mine is. Love Carly she's so beautiful, brave, kind, kind-hearted, caring, sweet, honest, playful, fun, talented, smart, positive and a true friend. She is the sweetest always been there for her sister and taking care of her. Best sister ever love her❤❤ The love she has for Blake really shows trough the story. Carly is the best sister and friend anyone could ever ask for she's a great inspiration❤❤ Blake loves her sister and tried to cheer her up when having it tough but she never really supported Carly's dreams and the fact that she told Carly was dating without asking her if it's alright is insane that's the kind of thing you don't wanna share with everyone instantly❤❤❤ Also the way Blake treated Ian is just wrong. You don't have to like everyone but as someone so close to your sisters life you treat others with kindness and accept that fact that he will be part of they're life. Sister always support eachother. The mom is at fault for putting the girls against eachother, not taking care of Carly the same way she does with Blake and breaking things up with Ian. As someone so close to your life you love both daughters as they are and will be there for eachother no matter what you have to go trough. Good they apoligized and told the truth in the end. It's never too late to make things right and there's nothing you can't face together love always wins.
