Today, I’m in a storytelling mood, and I want to share an experience that transformed my life in ways I never imagined.
Back in 1998, when Vedant was just born, I was a builder in Mumbai, working with Gujarati partners on big projects in Mumbai and Bangalore. It was a time of success, but something within me felt uneasy. The business wasn’t aligned with my ethics, and I often found myself questioning if this was the path I wanted.
One day, a friend of mine, Kishore-my trusted book supplier-came to my office and said, “Yogesh, come with me to meet Ranjit Maharaj. He’s my master, and I don’t want to travel alone.” Out of friendship, I agreed, and we took the train to a place called Baleshwar.
When we arrived, we entered a small, simple room where Ranjit Maharaj sat on a low cot, surrounded by a few people. I stood quietly in a corner, observing. At one point, he looked at me, smiled, and gestured for me to come closer. I was hesitant, but I went.
He placed his hand on my shoulder, looked into my eyes, and smiled-no words were spoken. In that one moment, something shifted within me. It was my first experience of Shakti-a powerful, transformative energy.
Within four months, my life completely changed. I left the builder business, moved to Sri Lanka, and met Jeffrey, who introduced me to the stock market-a journey that shaped who I am today.
The Lessons I Learned:
1️⃣ Masters Find You: You don’t have to search for a master. True spiritual guides are not commercial; they come into your life when you’re ready.
2️⃣ Inner Connection Matters: Material success requires hard work, but connecting with your true self demands even greater effort and patience. It’s a lifelong journey.
3️⃣ The Power of Inner Healing: During this phase, I also started practicing Reiki and had my first out-of-body experience, which deepened my understanding of the vast world within us.
If there’s one book I’d recommend for anyone starting their spiritual journey, it’s The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. It’s a timeless guide to staying present and finding the real you.
Remember, the world inside is far bigger than the world outside. Let’s dedicate time every day to connect with ourselves. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.
