This was a soft hit for me. I was suffering from PTFTD (post traumatic frosted tips disorder) from Love in the Maldives, so relatively speaking this was more entertaining. I do agree that Spring Into Love 2023 has been disappointing, hoping we’ll get some real hits. Good luck to your team in the playoffs! I’m in Bruins territory and we lost tonight.

Hahahah yeah that makes sense. As back to back weekends they were both pretty bad… I think we just really want a vacation 😂 And thanks for letting me know Boston lost as well! They’re usually our biggest problem in the playoffs, lol

I actually kinda liked this one, my only real gripe was with the misunderstanding, I hate it when they don't properly talk it out, and the male lead storms off/packs up to leave town without hearing the person out, not to mention she was doing her job, they told her not to tell anyone who she was.... the whole conclusion was lame, I wish they just could have written something a little different, but I understand why you guys didn't like it, I get your points, to each their own. Hope you guys like the Wedding Cottage, looking forward to the next review!

Yeah, with just a few tweaks this one would have felt better. The bad conclusion to the misunderstanding just left a bad wedding taste in our mouths. I’m ok with a lacklustre destination movie, but I want my wedding movies to be perfect 😂 - That’s why only 66% of the Wedding Veil movies did it for us (probably closer to 50% tbh)

It seems to me that you two managed to dislike this one even more than I did. It definitely wound up in my Miss column, but I did prefer it to our recent trips to the Maldives and to Valentine, Nebraska. I will admit that I didn't pick up on the Usual Suspects ending while watching it, but now it seems hamfistedly obvious. (I suppose that the question is now whether it was a ripoff or a winking homage.) I didn't have much of an issue with someone being a 'professional bridesmaid', but I really wish they could have kept it realistic. Hunter King's character is shown as being resourceful and ready for anything that may come up, so you're right that it strains credulity that she would be completely unprepared to answer any questions about her cover story. She carries chalk in her purse for wine stains (that was new to me), but she isn't prepared to answer a question like "How do you know the bride?" Come on, this isn't her first nuptial rodeo. An unfamiliar bridesmaid at a wedding is going to be asked that basic question multiple times at every wedding. (I'd go with being a childhood friend who grew up and became a...wedding planner! That way, I'd be able to talk about things I know about and not seem like I'm acting out of character when I help out.)

For sure! I’m a big fan of The Wedding Planner (and most JLO movies) so it felt mean to underplay the profession in a secretive manner. But yeah… she was flat out unprepared for this wedding 😂

Ulch. Wedding movies. I dont know, even with some of the stupid in this - which I found to be centred on other characters, not Hunter's actually - I'd rather watch this than the horrid veil movies with their meandering plots, sexist tropes and toxic relationships. This one I at least liked the interactions between the two, I thought they were cute, and was so thankful there was no ridiculous declaration of love at the end. Nope, FF and they're just dating. Like normal people. Shocker. Soft hit for me I guess.

Add to your checklist of future reviews: at least one actor in the film has lip injections resulting in unnatural-looking and unattractive fish lips - a new standard for women in these films.
