Irene I have stray ginger cat I named cuddles or cudsey I was given him because he was. homeless .A year and a before I got him I was homeless as I left abusive husband .We don't sing or high five but he does love sitting on my lap and has a ride on my lap in the electric wheelchair as I'm disabled in the garden I'm like u I would not give him away ,He's my hope of life.I loved your book l started reading it and could not put it down till finished reading. l believe that god sent u Bob the same way god sent me cudsey . l pray your life is on road to content and fulfillment god bless

I read A Street Cat Named Bob yesterday, and today I read The World According to Bob. What a great pair of books to put a smile on your face. It also makes you more aware that there are so many people out there who struggle to make a living. I kept wondering when reading the books, why didn't anyone give James a job so that he wouldn't have to lead such a difficult life? I sure hope he is secure and healthy now, and that he and Bob can ease into a "gentler" life.

I have no words to explain my emotions about the story, your life and your friendship with Bob. You are very brave and stubborn man which probably also gave you the stringth and a chanse to "win". Bob definately saved you and made you busy and happy in your life, but that may never happened if you by yourself wouldn't have a soft and wonderful soul. Great job both of you. I'm from belgium and a few days ago I ordered "A street cat named Bob". The book arrived two days ago and the picture of Bob on the cover was so cute that I couldn't help myself. I immediately started to read and even though I'm a dutch person, I was correct when I ordered this book in English. It was a real touching story and I cried multiple times while I was turning one page after another. Before I knew it I was reaching the end of the book, which I finished yesterday night. The end made me tear up and being in a mental institution/absylum and not having it very easy myself, this book gave me hope! I immediately ordered the sequel as well! Bob is an amazing and extraordinary cat that I completely fell in love with. I hope that I'll get to meet him and James one day. This book is highly recommended by me right now, certainly among my friends and I can't imagine a friend of me not hearing about their special story in the next few weeks. This video made my day! To all those people in the world who have a hard time coping with their lives, never give up! We can't all have a friend like Bob, but I'm sure we can be more of a friend to eachother in the future!

Never in my life have i picked a book up in a bookstore, bought it after reading the first chapter and finished reading it once i got home never putting it down until i finished reading it in the day. Once i started reading this book i couldn't put it down,fab reading and very heart warming. I know where Jim is coming from when he say's Bob is like a child to him,i have two children and a dog and i love them all to bits,pets whatever they are have their own characteristics and they give you lots of loving and company,what would we do without them?I just want to wish Jim and Bob all the luck in the world and hope they have a very long and happy life together.

My colleage was to London in September and brought with her to Russia the book about Bob. She strongly recommended to read it. Im reading it now, so positive and so sincere book, touchable! I have just finished reading this book and have to say it was the best thing I have ever read! I had a ginger tom for 16 years and this book brought all the memories flooding back to me about my own experiences with him, all cats are special but ginger toms are a breed of their own. Once I started to read it I couldn't put it down! the emotions of the book flooded through my body, ones of happiness and of sadness. A must read, but with tissues handy! Look after each other James & Bob.

what a lovely story. i am disabled, and in pain every day. some days i just don't want to get out of bed. it's in my best interest to try to keep moving, but some days it's just so hard. this is where my kitties come in, and they keep me going. it's nice, because when you take care of them it's as if the worries of your world disappear, and it's kinda nice.

I read the book in one day too, very good book reminded me of my cat who adopted us, when he was bit younger (he is now 17 deaf and blind in 1 eye) he used to followed us everywhere and used to come to the pub with us i was known as the french lady with her ginger cat, never leaving our sight but never closed enough to be cuddle . Now that he is older we are his slaves, a cat will never stay with his owner if he wasn't happy, you don't own a cat a cat owns you. good luck to both of you

I wish I had the same experience as people who went to this book shop!! I went to Waterstone in Reading and queued 2 hours under the sun and one hour in the shop. I was not allowed to take a photo or to ask James to write a name on the book, not allowed to talk to him! They turned James into a signature machine!!! I would understand if it was half way through the queue but there were 10 people left behind me!!!!

I have read "A street cat named Bob" and "The world according to Bob" many times and still find them enjoyable. We also went as a family of mum, dad and adult son to see the film which was just as enjoyable as the books. Hope both Bob and James Bowen are both well and happy still in each others company. I was brought up in a house where stray cats were welcomed and made ready for rehoming from my earliest memories until my marriage in 1973. We took a pair of litter mates from my my mum's and kept them until one went feral in 1975 and then her litter mate died aged 5 from cancer (I cried buckets when we had to have him euthanised to save him a painful death). We then had a marvellous cat who was a true alley cat who though it was part of his responsibility to look after my son, born in 1980. As soon as I had recovered from the birth he would go absent for weeks at a time, being an alley cat and helping raise his kittens. When my son began to walk cat would follow him round and if baby fell over would come and tap me with his paw. He died of cancer when my youngest son was 3 and we adopted (or were adopted by) a female kitten who we kept until she died of old age at 19 years old. We then adopted (or were adopted by) another cat from the RSPCA who's age no one knew. When she died 3 years ago the vet estimated her age at between 17 and 19 years. I know what pleasure a cat can bring and how they become a member of your family, in fact they often feel as if they are one of your children. I wish Bob and James a loving long and happy life together and hope that when Bob eventually dies James will form a similar lasting friendship with another cat LOVE EVE

Apenas hace mes y medio conocí la historia de James Bob. Sentí mucha tristeza que el pasado 15 de Junio (2020), Bob había fallecido. Hace unas semanas vi su película, me conmovió, pedí su libro "Un gato callejero llamado Bob", todavía no lo recibo y que deseo mucho leer. No les miento, he sentido mucha empatía por James por haber perdido a Bob de manera trágica y lamentable. Créanme que pasé varios días con el corazón partido y en ocasiones lloré como niño. De alguna manera he estado acompañando en su duelo a James. La historia de James y Bob me ha impactado tanto que, me he puesto a reflexionar sobre mi propia vida y que me he dado cuenta que tengo que ser una mejor persona conmigo mismo y con los demás.
