Yhis looks to be based on a Sentinal 0-4-0 steam shunter. Back in 1958 a man named J J Constable designed a 5" guage Sentinal model which won the Championship of the Model Engineer Exhibition. In 1961 ithe design and build was serialissed in Model Engineer magazine. It was powered by a Stuart Turner D10V with a vertical boiler 6" high by 4.25" outside diameter. Mr Constable designed and made everything except the D10V, the 8mm drive chain and the pressure guage. The D10V was modified to have slip eccentic valve gear which could be operated from the cab and be smaller than the Stuart Turner valve gear. The boiler fittings tend to be smaller than commercial fittings and much more compact to fit in the small area of the cab. I learnt about the model about 40 years ago and I've always had the intention of building one. This year I've started. Maybe I should create a build diary on KZbin. If Keith reads this, I have made most of the boiler fittings and just recieved the 50x3mm BMS for the main frames and am about to place a substancial order with his favourite supplier that he used to live near. A search of Google provided just one result for Sirena as it was called smalllivesteamengines.fandom.com/wiki/Sirena_0-4-0VB_Sentinel_geared_engine

Beautiful little engine that, I always like something a 'little' different when it comes to trains & that reminds me of another beautiful double Stuart that was in the Mudgee Miniature Railway club I was once a member of.... Speaking of which different, any details on that small Garret in the background??? I especially like Garrets! :D Being a New South Welshman, AD60's are the top of the list of all-time favourites, but Tasmanian (3'6") 'double-Atlantic' M class comes in at a very close 2nd with their 8 'simple' (HA!) cylinders & not to be confused with W.A's 2-6-2+2-6-2 M class... (Would've provided a link but I remember how you don't read & delete comments with a link, Im sure that, if interested, you know how to highlight & search 'em out for yourself ;) ) Thank you again :)
