Female friendships and lack of honesty is really a thing. Stopped talking to one of my closest friends because she wasn't honest with me about a lot of things. Made me feel like she was living a double life and I shared my entire life with her( well most of it). This aspect just eroded trust and I was like I can't do it anymore. I love her but I'm afraid of her cause I feel like I don't really know her.

Nse was the one that made me shed a tear when she cried. This is such a lovely episode. It is sad that you ladies had to remember being betrayed by your your female friendships. And yes, Dakore spoke my mind when she mentioned the close friendship between Toyin and Uche yet they could not tell each other about the men in their lives. I wondered why

All my Favs!!! This conversation is so insightful, I love how they talked about their character in the movies and related to reality. There's age, experience, and exposure to everyone's point of view, which made it more informative and interesting. This conversation helped me see friendship /sisterhood in another light, life is so short and we all need to be better versions of ourselves. TM words can't describe you!!!🥰

Interesting topic ….many of us have experienced being caught up between a friend and a boyfriend….one such case that comes to my mind was during my NYSC but I totally ignored my friend’s boyfriend’s advances and didn’t want to lose her friendship so only was able tell her 30 years later when we were now both happily married…though I had lost touch with my friend for some years …we are in touch now and laugh over it…actually it is a non issue because their relationship did not even get past a few months
@olusolaagunbiade3735 Жыл бұрын
Love you so much, my 3 fav & beautiful babes!❤ I watched the movie being discussed & I was angry, when it got to where both friend's were not open about their relationship over the same guy! I was especially upset with Toyin, the supposedly innocent one. In fact, thank God it was Dakore that played the part, otherwise I would simply switch to another movie. I watched until the end because of suspence (I give that to the movie) but felt the script would have been MORE relatable for people of my age (53 yo) considering Uche & Toyin were portrayed as tight friends. They were like sisters, naw! & you can't be that tight yet struggle to open up to each other about a guy or another friend outside of your own circle. Plus, they were matured ladies which I felt ahould have made them be more open with each other! O ka mi lara gan ni!😂 Darling Toke, it's good you intend to bring these ladies back, & I look forward to that! Continue to rock on, bitch!❤😁

People underestimate the power of trauma. It’s such a dark hole you wish you can crawl out of but yet the hole just keeps getting better at the slightest trigger. I wish there was a quick pill, I’m sure a lot of people will buy it to escape it but instead we live thru it and fight another day. 🙃🙂

I absolutely love this podcast but my only advice is Time you need to let your guest speak during your show. It seems as though you overtake the conversation with multiple conversations and the guest don’t get a chance to actually answer the question and speak their truth. When Nse said “even a man shouldn’t come in between friends” and Dakore responded with “because we’re in a patriarchal society” yen yen yen. As a woman that statement comes across as passing the buck instead of taking accountability for what we know our gender to be like. We can’t blame men in every space, characteristics/nature of an individual has to count for something. If your friend is a witch, she’s a witch. The manner in which she betrays you is very telling of the level of your friendship. Not discounting the other factors that makes one’s environment so competitive in Africa especially. Be careful with throwing around that rhetoric…

How many men can leave their friends for a woman they will even call her names behind her,is the way we make these useless men feel important and make them treat women the way they want we as women have been brainwashed for generations if a man is a piece of shit instead of him to be blamed you as the woman he approached to ask out and you agreed because you like him will be quarreling another woman that he toiled with calling her names because of the shit he did instead of cutting him off you call a woman a whore when the so called men in these hypocritical society we live in are the main whores doing lot of shits and getting away with their wrongdoings women should cherish themselves and know their worth than those craps I don't even know what women see in them anyways is it their names that u are so desperate to be called is yours itching your body,is it a house you don't have that make you to do anything to stay under the same roof with a man whether he's disgusting or not,or his smelly dick?that was how a woman in my area was killed by her husband mistress with the car the useless man bought for her the wife doesn't even have a car she was trekking and the mistress went to hit her and her children with the car when she went to pick them from school his mistress was caught before she escaped and that was how she confessed could you believe that instead of blaming the useless man for his shit people were pitying him for his loss what of lives that were lost? if it was the wife that did that she would have been called worst names and lot of things would have been done to her and many stories I can't even stand these piece of shits talk more of staying under the same roof unless he's my housemate or friend aside that nothing
