Hi Peter, Lovely to see you again, and I wish you a very happy and healthy New Year and Thank you for all your lovely videos trhroughout 2024. It was a nice break to see some decent weather in your video as opposed to the rubbish were going through at the moment. I had some idea we'd have it pretty dark and lacking in sunshine around New year but didn't quite anticipate the heavy rain all day yesterday and overnight. A bit of sunshine lifts the spirit find and I'm pleased you found it so, too. At least we're getting towards spring here in the UK, as the southern hemisphere heads for autumn so we've that to look forward to. Yes choose sunny days for your northern holidays 😊

Thank you Billy - hoping for a much drier, warmer and altogether better year ahead. Over here on the mainland - almost within sight of you 😂, it is cold but sunny so that at least gives some cheer. Yes I'll be adding some more model boat videos through the year, probably mid month. At present the boating pond is being cleaned but should be OK in a couple of weeks time. Good wishes, Peter

Happy New year David and yes '48 was definitely a year of great changes with the NHS and British Railways coming into being, plus we two 🤗. Oo sunshine has made an appearance. That feels good. Let's hope it continues throughout 2025 👍

Happy New Year Peter. Well that was a pleasure to watch seeing those glorious landscapes and sunshine, such a contrast to the miserable weather we're currently enduing. Lovely hearing your reminiscences as always. That was a very nice treat at the end seeing Mark's Clyde Puffer. Thank you for the mention, we really did miss having Paul on the Norfolk tour he is just so quick witted a very funny guy. Problem now solved with him becoming a proud Hunter owner, plans are in the making for this years rides and tours. Thanks for sharing this ride with us! 😃👍

Thanks Dave. Yes it's that sun wot does it. It's one of my favourite rides but in the Beetle it's quite tiring with all the twists and turns. Quieter than the busy main road though so I will often use it in preference. Yes I did miss his jokes but pleased he's now sorted with that Hunter. Mark's had a lot of steaming issues with the Puffer but with a different propeller it's running very nicely. Good to chat this afternoon 👍

Happy New Year, Peter, and what a great way to start it. Lesley and I would always watch the sidecars at the end of the races while most of the fans disappeared. Yes the sidecars are quite something aren't they. I've watched some earlier sidecar TT races from the 60s with all my favourites of course - but oh my it's really scary to realise the speeds they're going. The steamboat museum is a great day out especially if you combine it with a sail on Osprey and if you go on a Monday you can have a go with one of our models 👍. Enjoy the rest of your day - I was up early so I think a bit of lunch would be a good idea. 😋

Happy new year Peter, wishing you health and happiness for 2025, that was a lovely video really enjoyed it even though I have traveled the route many times, it was a glimmer of what we hope is around the corner, great stories from your past I do think we were younger in a time when money was thin on the ground but we tried to experiment more by having a go, I had a friend who was a plumber and he had a kart, with a villi era 2T engine in it I spannered for him quite a bit, he never got to the top but had a few trophies to his name, much more enjoyable, I was never one for speeding locally but toured at every opportunity, in this country firstly then further afield abroad, enjoyable, thanks for the vid and the commentary, catch you very soon Ted

Happy New Year Peter🎉 I'm currently enjoying a jar of Christmas chutney, made by the Hawkshead Relish Company in Cumbria. Nice to see the area it's made! I can recall doing machining work on engines used in sidecar racing but detail is very sparse as my memory is very foggy. Looking forward to more of your lovely video's, thanks again for all your content👍

Sounds very tasty, Paul, that relish. 😋. I've been enjoying your backdrop photos on Saddlebags 73 but didn't realise you had another bike besides the Hunter. You'll tell me now you've still more besides - all with their stickers missing 😂. Yes John started out racing a 3 cylinder Saab two stroke engined outfit but got sponsored by a local Portsmouth businessman (Grahame someone who raced a 250 MV Agusta) and moved onto a Yamaha 750 4. Very fast. Scary. Many thanks for your lovely comments throughout the year - always look forward to hearing from you even if it is to tell me to get rid of the fuel tank sticker 🙈

@@Lanes-Explorer5733 It's very nice with cold cut's porkpie etc but call me a heathen as I could just eat it with a spoon!! Only got my Hunter, sold the Yamaha, which had a HUGE sticker on the tank, but not for long! If Saddlebags ever does a bus stop special, I've got a couple of belters!!!!

Happy New Year Peter and I wish you the very best for 2025. As usual, I watched this alongside following your route on the OS maps app but this time sipping a cup of coffee. Oddly enough my maternal family is from Crosthwaite and our records go back to the 1550s and the first holiday with my wife was in Bowness, 30 years ago. Motorcycle wise, I have been enjoying a little too much of winter riding and now the aluminium engine casings are looking very sorry for themselves so need to get some elbow grease. Boxing Day was a ‘family affair’ with me on the Enfield, my son on his Honda and my daughter riding pillion on her boy friend’s Kawasaki. I hope you have a lovely day and are busy, among your other interests, plotting new lanes to explore!

Happy new year Peter. What better way to start 2025 than a relaxing ride on a Royal Enfield. The commentary was entertaining as usual and I hope I can ride a motorbike well into my seventies (I am a child of 1958). You are almost at the 1K subs and well deserved but it is as you say, the number does not matter, it is the friendship some of the subs bring. Weather is rubbish here so no bike ride today 😒
