Reverse headstock kills it for me. I just think that is homely on a Tele and can't get used to it I'd consider it if it had a regular headstock and no batteries. Fluence is a bad trend of modern guitar making. It's a spec throw-in: hey, look look all these tones, you can sort of imitate a bunch of guitars that look nothing like this one; also look at these glowie side dots. It has too much going on tonally so it doesn't really have its own voice that gives it a purpose. A guitar is supposed to be a sensible concept and it should kind of tell you how it ought to be played. This is for a guitar teacher who just likes somewhat weird looking things.

@@LennyLenoardson The answer is simple. The batteries aren't an inconvenience for me since I change them quite often. The advantages that active pickups give me are more than that "inconvenience".

I have this guitar in black. It's such a versatile instrument and plays amazingly well. I can go from smooth clean blues to brutal metal and it does it all so well. It has quickly become my favorite guitar. A huge bonus is the fact that the roasted maple neck smells just like fresh maple syrup for the first couple of months. Unfortunately, it eventually fades, but it's great while it lasts. 😁

Before I settled on a Sire T7, I was about 90% ready to pull the trigger on one of these Charvels. I finally decided I should have a more traditional “Tele” before I got one of these super-Teles. I also thought I’d be spending so much time screwing with all the pickup switching options that I’d never actually play the damn thing. Also, I’m not a shredder. But man, this Charvel model is badass.

These are designed within the Corona Fender Shop, I'm guessing these guitars are what they would want to do with the Fender line, but want to stay true to it's fender Tele, so they are able to get creative on their Charvels.
@franklovestojam888 Жыл бұрын
Hi Landon. You surprised me with that guitar because as soon as I saw it, I recognized it as the same model I bought just over three years ago. From what I've heard Charvel is part of the Fender Company stable. I couldn't tell you how long the battery lasts but as soon as I bought the Charvel I had it set up (with the original battery left in) and put a spare battery in the case. The spare battery is still in its packaging after over three years. I have a number of guitars that I rotate but I'm guessing the Charvel has had 60 to 70 hours of playing and still going strong. I scanned through the comments first and was puzzled why a couple of writers preferred the guitar without the pickguard. The answer showed itself once I watched your video, especially at 4:21. Yours is a solid body whereas mine was listed as Chambered. If you remove my pickguard, you will see a pattern of Routing that takes up almost the entire area under the pickguard. So, I'm guessing a weight difference. For my preferences, I didn't think of it as a shredder guitar but a very easy playing versatile T Style. There are times when I play just clean or edge of breakup. The single coils or vintage PAF do a great job. Maybe some clean sounds in you short videos? 😁

I got the Alder body hardtail blue from Musician's Friend and the frets were sharp as hell. Im in a dry climate so not its seriously sprouting. I should've bought it from Sweetwater as they check and set up guitars from their home base before shipping to you. Mine came unchecked from Mexico with no final inspection checked on the card and unsetup. Horrible! The bright spot is when it's repaired it should be great cause it sounded good. I had buy Musician's Friend as I had $2500.00 on my card from them. Next time Sweetwater as I'd be enjoying it by now.

Very sweet ash Charvel Pro-Mod So-Cal HH! Lots of interesting switching tones and nice to see they care enough to rout in the back plates (unlike, cough, PRS). Alas, there was no MTV in Canada in the TV music video heyday of 1984-1994, we only had Much Music (Canadian content rules), with the much adored VJ Erica Ehm. Also had early Ren and Stimpy seasons till parents complained about b--gers and f--ts.

TRIGGERED!!!! It will take me several days to get the image of that first pickguard screw driven in CROOKED out of my head!!!! On another note, I had one of these in all black. Its a beast of a guitar. I loved the 12-16 compound radius neck profile - Charvel necks are some of the best out there. With all the tone/pickup options, the guitar was just overwhelming to me and I couldnt get it dialed into anything other than harder rock and metal tones that sounded natural to the guitar (if that makes sense). I never could get the sound or the mojo out of it that I was looking for. I just traded it two weeks ago for a 2022 Fender 60s JV modified Made in Japan strat which I havent been able to put down. The Charvel is a good guitar and well worth the money - just not my vibe. Pro Tip on the Charvel - if you are not a master at setting up a floating bridge, do yourself a favor and take it to someone who is for a proper setup or the guitar will not stay in tune. Thanks for the vid Landon!

You really need to try the Charvel DK24! It is my favorite super Strat! No offense to Ibanez, but they are soooooo much better than the AZ series imo. I love Ibanez, don't get me wrong, and I have an AZ, among several other Ibanez.. But man, talk about a shredder. And it is so universal. I can get so many awesome sounds, from twangy Tele sounds to heavy distorted sounds. It's truly a beast, and it's only around $1199, at least for the one I got, the DK24 in Quilted Chlorine Burst!
