A Surly Troll bike build story 🇨🇦

Gerardo "gerry" Bergado of Toronto ask bored mechanic for some help on his new bike project the discontinued 2020 Surly Troll bike for his future bike adventure and/or bike packing kind of discipline. Thank you to Dismount Bikeshop of Toronto for all his major supplies and parts.

Ahh, great vid - brings back memories of building my own. I have a black one, 2015. Saddened to find they discontinued but, on a positive, it is now a collectible, lol. Use mine for just mountain biking, leisure riding, and will occasionally take it out while wearing my ALICE frame modded with PALS panels - to carry some camping gear. Excellent bike - mine has squishy front - only thing I would consider changing, is swapping out the fork for a 29" suspension one, just to alter the rake angle but have not really had any issues with the rake angle while using a 26" suspension fork - don't really jump it, just cross country and forest trails and around town - plus altering the rake, that way, would set the saddle farther back - happy with its current setup but that is the only thing I've considered changing, just for experiment's sake, lol. Great ride, great vid.

Is it cheaper to build the bike from the frame out or buy the stock bike from surly then swap out the items you want to upgrade... seems a waste as I couldn't use those items swapped out and selling them online takes too long.

Thank you for watching and taking the time on the video. Honestly here in Canada 🇨🇦 with lotsa middleman & gov't taxes in the bicycle market. . I think it is cheaper to buy a stock from Surly. Not sure if it is the same in the USA ( you know mark-up/ middleman/ taxes like in 🇨🇦 ). I agree as well on selling bike parts online takes time and meeting some Low Ballers too 😉 . Pwd lagyan ng Suspension fork ang Troll sir? naririnig ko sa iba na maganda daw ang steel frame tulad ng surly(kc Chromoly) nag aabsorb ng vibration, hindi mo ma feel ang impact kc nag fi flex ang frame... hindi ka makaka ramdam ng Fatigue sa katawan. Na isip ko kc malaki ride comfort pag may suspension fork lalo na pag high end.

Thank you for taking the time and watching. The owner bought it (ordered) to dismount bikeshop Toronto 🇨🇦 unfortunately the model Troll is discontinued. Sorry about that though. Keep safe my friend
