Still makes me laugh out loud and I've seen these sketches many times and saw them when they first aired. Best film spoofs ever done. Even demanding New Yorker film critic Pauline Kael thought so (she esp. loved "Rancid Harvest.")

This was always one of my favorites. Carol was sensational at doing Bette Davis (and Crawford) and this wacky plot is not at all too far removed from the movie itself. LOL. It always gets me when she imitates the fog horn. "PAT-sy." Bwahaha. Harvey brilliant as always. "How smutty," is one of the great lines ever. Perfect in every way.

This reminds of Bette Davies movie, " Dead Ringer " which I am watching right now! 😂 where she plays twins, one rich and one poor. A great !! movie. Pretty much anything Bette Davis, or Carroll Burnett, does, is a winner. 😍😍😍😍 Two of my favorites .❤❤❤

It sounds like this skit is a comic spoof of A Stolen Life (1946). In this film, Bette Davis portrays twin sisters, Kate and Patricia Bosworth. After Patricia drowns in a boating accident, Kate assumes her sister's identity to be with Patricia's husband. Carol does a fantastic imitation of Bette Davis.

Love it, Carol and Harvey and Vicki doing a Bette Davis movie and having a ball with it. Actually, "A Stolen Life" is a pretty good classic film and makes fine use of split screen cinema magic--- many years before Patty Duke or Liz Montgomery or Barbara Eden were playing lookalikes on TV film footage.
