breaks my heart. I own a TA Davison slipjoint and it has absolutely none of the issues you've spotted here Nick. no ballsy queen but an acorn on mine. actually one of my favorites. either way, I'm a Shabazz fan and a Todd Davison fan.

Just from listening to you talk about this knife, I can tell you're somewhat new to traditionals. The issues you brought up are what happens to a pinned construction knife over time that sees hard use. That knife definitely did not come off davisons bench with those issues. That's one of the differences between custom slipjoints and custom tactical folders, they're much harder to keep "perfect" and most guys who buy them to use just throw them in their pocket and keep them for many years and don't worry about nuances like off center blades and the tang and spring not aligning perfectly. Also that shield is probably the worst ever, have to agree with you there lol. Tony Bose has been using it for years and made it popular for some weird reason.

Yep, that's probably true. Traditionals are not my home market, so I'm looking at them with the same eye I use for modern blades. Good to know, though, that some folks don't find these to be major problems. But ti's probably a good reason I shouldn't spend much time over in traditional land. Also, the jackass who sold it to me claimed "Only carried a few times". Lol.

So, 1,368 viewers will no longer be able to look at this knife without seeing a chess piece with balls hanging down. That's some branding! LOL

It was a ballsy move on his part, for sure.

Not my cup of tea. You're not wrong about those issues though. If you're going to bench make a knife and charge a lot for it the details should be damn near perfect. After all IMO thats what you're paying for. This is a nice knife overall though. Its the type of knife my father would love. He carries on somewhat similar. If I had not just got hime one similar I would look into acquiring this one for him.

I like traditional knifes but not at several hundred bucks I know it's cpm154 but that leaves me kinda cold
@beardedbassist83478 жыл бұрын
my case xx knives are better than that. And the most expensive one i have is $100, & that's only because it is a specialty run that is discontinued. One thing i like about traditionals is they are usually a softer steel and you can sharpen them with a freaking rock if need be
@Ephem138 жыл бұрын
I love traditional knives but at this price point you kind of expect more.

I see a zoftig Queen with a custom rack, if that helps your image of the knife at all.

several hundred dollars with what I consider a regular steel and the gaps at the bolsters at several hundred bucks?...... no I think I'm good on that.. for God's sake my sod busters don't have gaps like that. it just comes off as looking sub par to me custom or not it doesn't look worth several hundred dollars worth of custom
@Pinki20198 жыл бұрын
Wait, did I hear that right? That knife costs several hundred bucks? ROFL!!!!! You'd be better off with a $20 Victorinox......

That was two years ago. Same knife from him today will go for around $600.

Is it a Drag Queen or a pre-op Trans-gendered Queen ? Either way , I can't unsee that logo now , thanks Nick ! On the positive side , I don't own it . If it's not a joy to open and close it's not going to see much if any pocket time .

I'm guessing you don't do any manual labor, you seem to have weak hands. Do you work in an office?
@NickShabazz8 жыл бұрын
Yep, office and other indoor work, and what manual stuff I do is running cables and cutting foam. Definitely not going to be winning any strong-man contests any time soon!

amo757 I'm really impressed. It takes a big man to look twice and think better, and an even bigger one to do something about it. Apology warmly accepted, and I'd be happy to see you stick around the channel and keep commenting!

This really hasn't aged well. A man who knows nothing about slip joints reviews a slipjoint 😂😂 Although it does look like bollocks!
