After the battle of Kurstrin in 1865 the Prussians must have had an dark foreboding about what would befall the city in 1945, so they began constructing a great fortress consisting of 4 great armored forts, one I showed you last year that of the amazing fort Zorndorf.
But what of the others, as the Russian army hacked their way onto German soil one of the sister forts stood in the way, and survived, in fact I can actually show you what these would look like before and after.
Besides the history there will also be a glimpses of a future deep exploration of the 3..
Please join me I am out filming these weeks but will of course try and join you in the chat.
Also I hope you will take the time to follow my channel and visit the website where documents and research is posted, and should you feel like helping out please join my patreon where we have private chats and you wont have commercials. It all helps me make more. www.patreon.com/tinostruckman... anD my website lostbattlefields.com

The building of these fortresses is so amazing and so time consuming in brick, the fundermentals as to the position in the Germany at the time is as you say unusual. Another great presentation thankyou Tino

there is something quite captivating about these forts, something evocative and i can't quite put my finger on it it's an odd time in history from my own present day perspective, i was never really into history and foreign matters of war and power struggles interested me less, at least until now when such videos as Tinos allows us to see what went on i do have to say i am with Tino, some of the architecture is in no doubt rather stunning, in a time when really money was less of an object as it is today, shortcuts being taken, this was a time when architects were brash and were allowed to make things look so grand, the choice of brick and the way it is presented with all the finite details, can you imagine what it must be like when it was being built and completed all new - it must have been quite a site with all its furnishings, the hustle and bustle of daily life, full of soldiers and officers carrying on their daily duties - quite the spectacle of course it is nice to see these places, undisturbed and complete, still in one piece and lasting through time, but to see other parts partially destroyed, well again, just as amazing because then you can see how they were constructed and what it took the builders and engineers to do to build these stunning forts - great video Tino, look forward to the follow ups
