Omnibus ranged even further with presentations on art and architecture, avant-garde literature, American and world history, criminal and constitutional law, international relations, sports, and science. Viewers tuned in for entertainment, but also for instruction and insight.
The series aired successively over the CBS, ABC, and NBC networks, consistently attracted 16 million viewers to each episode, and won more than 65 awards, including nine Emmys and two Peabody awards.
