Linda always says Lisa Marie called to say her daddy was dead nice to know that Sam was there and looking out for her at that awful time he's such a nice clever guy and he made a good career for himself while he had led an awsome exiting life.

This interview is a must for everyone who loves Elvis. This man Sam Thompson is a decent man with integrity. I have tears in my eyes listening to sam telling about Elvis. I am so happy now knowing that sincere, intelligent man with high ethics, Sam Thompson, was a close person to Elvis. And Sam was with Elvis the last night in Graceland. It was meant to be that it was Sam with him the last night.

Thanks for this comment! I believe this is one of the best interviews I have ever seen that (I am positive this Mr Thompson tells the truth and does it so well...some of us who love Elvis the person and that incredible music he put together was part of his genious.) We MUST judge him by his whole life and career and flawed and great as most are, Elvis was a great, great blessing to this world primarily and eternity is only place (if it is done there) that it'll be shown he was a beautiful, incredible loving and caring man...and rare as it is...Elvis loved the black and other minorities long before the politicians "did"... with his (Elvis') color blindedness...he saw God's creation of people and all things good and we will never know all the good he did for so many. I wish I could have been his friend, a true friend, and NEVER for any gain for me. Thanks for great video! w

Thanks Sam. A great interview. Very honest about everything Elvis. So happy you mentioned Billy Smith. He really has to be loved and respected more than anyone coz he was the closest to Elvis. Can’t understand why Lisa Marie and her Mum cannot acknowledge him as Elvis’s cousin, best friend and family. He needs to be at Graceland sitting in one of Elvis’s chairs telling visitors Elvis stories. Billy Smith is such a wonderful gentleman. He still lives Elvis.

Billy left Graceland and went to work back at the railroad. I am not sure what made lisa and Priscilla get away from Billy and Jo. It’s too bad too cause Jo and Priscilla spent allot of time together when the guys were on the road. Priscilla could have allot of good caring people around her and Lisa if they reached out to Billy and Jo.

Once Elvis was on tour in Birmingham, Alabama. He had some sort heart issue, and was admitted to UAB to be checked. Elvis met a young child that needed heart surgery, which his parents couldn’t afford. Elvis paid for the surgery. Elvis was a good man, caught up in situation he had no control of.

Seems to have been concerned for Elvis' welfare not one of the hangers on. I am sure Elvis would be happy knowing he assisted Sam in his education. Elvis seemed to enjoy helping others so much this would be something he would have been proud of. Best of luck to Sam and his family.

I have always heard that Billy Smith was the one that Elvis spent the most time with, and his wife Jo. Thank you Sam for mentioning that in your interview. You are so sincere and I just love your sister Linda. She was so good to Elvis during the almost five year relationship. They just don't come any better than Linda and I know that if Linda would have bern there on 8-16-77 that Elvis would have been checked on alot sooner than 6 or 8 hours later. I have heard many people who worked for Elvis talk about how Linda watched after Elvis and said that Linda wouldn t sleep until Elvis was asleep. Thanks again. God Bless.

At 12:18. .’he always questioned, why was it me ? And he referred to it as being touched by the finger of God. ..’. ..Sam Thompson recalling a conversation with Elvis and quoting him. .. And when we watch him live on stage, take note of his fingers because there was another famous American country musician who did describe Elvis’s fingers- when he was live on stage performing and even in rehearsals with his band, his fingers would be held in a very unique way, almost like the depictions shown in prints of Christ. I’m not in any way suggesting that he is divine but it does make one pause, if only to understand how he was embraced by so many, many lives. .✨

Sam Thompson a truly great man . You showed loyalty to Elvis the man that could’ve been your Brother in law and yet you only talked good things about him . You are Linda Thompson’s brother and I’m sure you could’ve say not so good stories about Elvis . But as a true loyal employee and friend and almost family you respected Elvis till the end . I know when Linda left Elvis you were uncertain about your job but Elvis told you “. you can keep working for me if you’d like , even when your sister is not here anymore “ and you opted to stay with Elvis 🕺. Good decision!!! Thanks for sharing your story with us . I think Linda would’ve been the best wife for Elvis . She loved him so much and stood with him until she couldn’t stay any longer 😥. Thanks 🙏. Yes I’m glad you acknowledged Billy Smith Elvis’s cousin and yes it was true Billy and Elvis always went together , even on his First date with his later wife Elvis was on the back seat of Billy’s car said so by his widow . RIP BILLY A TRUE LOYAL FRIEND TO ELVIS . 😥❤️🙏. Ps Billy’s wife wrote a book about their stories together . Thanks 🙏

Linda was perfect for Elvis. She loved him dearly. The problem became when George Kline decided to introduce Elvis to Ginger and her family. That further added to the decline of Elvis. She didn't want to give up her boyfriend and everywhere she and Elvis went her family had to go. Ginger defended her mother who sued the estate shortly after Elvis died because he promised her he would pay off her mortgage, build a swimming pool and pay for her divorce. Cold hearted. It was also wrong for GK to introduce Elvis to someone while he was still with Linda.

I totally agree with Sam about what he said about Tom Parker. He was a great manager for Elvis, nobody could have done for Elvis what he did, and I'm glad that Sam said Elvis was not under any kind of control - he made his own decisions about things, even if he gave into the Colonel sometimes. I also indirectly benefitted financially from Elvis. I had one of his scarves for 20 years, and sold it for $3000. I didn't want to sell it but my husband I would have had to sell our house if we didn't raise some money fast, so Elvis's scarf saved me from bankruptcy.

They must have their own reasons, but I don't understand why Priscilla and Lisa Marie don't have any kind of relationship with Billy and Jo. Elvis, during his life was so generous with all the people around him but also after his death he gave them splendid opportunities to know the world , make money, become famous. This is a honest interview, Sam Thompson doesn't talk about Elvis's bad mood, about his bad behaviours, his addictions as some of his 'so called' best friends did . Particularly he points out the great love, the strong connection Elvis had with his cousin Billy Smith and his wife Joe.In fact I wonder why Priscilla and Lisa Marie ( who was their niece) ignored them When she lived at Graceland, before and after her marriage .Joe Smith was Priscilla's best friends; she was right living out all other guys except Jerry Schilling, but why Billy? She knew that Elvis would have never liked it. The Smiths , with great dignity, found another job and stopped calling Lisa and her mother just for an hello, phone calls that were never returned.

Sam seems to be a very, very humble and honorable man , and his sister is the same way , of course Linda is much better looking than Sam is........sorry Sam.

Only thing I'd wish paid interviews, would keep the mouth shut about people who are no longer here to defend themselves, Elvis is not the only person who had problems, it just erks me how people talk about the dead, who can't defend the words of others. a lot of people wouldn't be nothing if Elvis hadn't been involved. This guy,his sister and parents, Elvis kept them all up
