Love this story, reminds me of our community when I was a child. Everyone was like an extended family, doors were always open. Sadly it seems to be a thing of the past. We are fortunate to have wonderful neighbours where we now live, in our 70's. ❤

I am grateful for support from others in the assisted living place as for me as a child zero support from family, school, because in 1960 mental illness some people thought I was possessed and ashamed of me my sisters. Hard life. Today maybe aLOT more support. I am 72. All my family is dead my nephew scorns me even when Iwas small shame and resentment. Rest of family dead. In laws hate my guts and hate me. Here I have support but as in all places bulllied still.

Why was the mother trying to do everything by herself? Where was the boy's father? Didn't she have any family to help her? When the source of toxic poison not been held for the accident? If David was nearly killed, was the source discovered was it pulled from the shelves? Shouldn't they have to make a financial statement for nearly killing him? It's nice to know the neighbors were willing to help, but why didn't they notice how badly his condition was before the near tragedy?
