Really big thank you guys at SETI for all of these informational video recordings covering interesting and important subjects. Very appreciated how SETI involved those from the outside...

And I really, really can not understand what we may say to Others, except - hi, how do you do? nice to meet you too, bye... Because, if they're advanced, we are just a monkeys to them, and in perspective a foes; if we're advanced - they are monkeys, and become (or be from the start) a foes as well... and so on.

Doubt. Compassion is very complicated thing, it has minimum in common with technological progress. It's rather matter of psychology... What's more, compassion may be only between equals, which cannot be in case of extraterrestrial life by default.

yea...THAT....or more than likely we're about to start ringing the dinner bell for any superior species out there...

Well, consider this: Someone had to be first! We are so set on thinking we are about to discover advanced old civilizations with amazing science and technology. What if it really took the Universe close to 14 billion years for intelligent life to evolve? Is it really so far fetched to also consider we may be the first place in the Universe to evolve intelligent life? There may be life on other planets, but it may not have reached our level or intelligence yet. Or it may be that we are made out of meat! See www.terrybisson.com/page6/page6.html ;-)

Yes that far fech considering that there are billions of galxies composed of billions of terrestrial planets

Bertie Wooster our earth is only 4.5 billion years. The universe is in its third cycle of suns being born, dying, and creating new splats systems. So we are the youngest possible means of advanced civilization. There could have been civilizations that were at our level of advancement 10.4 billion years ago.

if anyone TRULY found proof of life outside of earth the news would be buried sooo freaking fast it wouldnt be funny. i like seti but i mean... come on. seti is basically moot at this point.
@aaaaaa-qn8ol8 жыл бұрын
why are you so sure about that?
@cawfeedawg8 жыл бұрын
It would be impossible to "bury" that kind of news.. Have you ever tried herding cats? aka Scientists?
@DrToonhattan8 жыл бұрын
+Cawfee Dawg I don't think he means bury as in suppress, if that's what you're referring to. I think he means that the next celebrity non-story would come along the next day and everyone would stop caring about it.

not true. in 1996 we were almost convinced we did find Martian life and everybody was talking about it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allan_Hills_84001

lol @ maybe not as intelligent as us. Lets see how advanced we are:- We have no space travel. We use black carbon for fuel and energy. We do not mine asteroids. Sorry folks but we are the chimpanzee in the galaxy. The earth is 5 billion years old. There are solar systems that are over 10 billion years old. Any intelligent advanced species on such a planet would have to travel the stars or go extinct. Because main sequence stars have a stable period of around 7 billion years. Of course this is still fascinating but obvious stuff, or is that just me?
