In the Guardian article, Louis said “And if there was any bad news that needed giving to the label I’d always be designated to have the argument.” Louis taking on this role made him the biggest target among the boys. The boys made him their representative as they sought to take control of their music/careers, but management saw him as the "least talented one" that was positioning himself as the leader and causing trouble. Niall said "I'd say, we would have lost the plot along the way if we hadn't had Louis." Louis basically took the hits so that the other boys wouldn't have to. He deserves all the love and success in the world, and more. 💙

I find it unlikely that Louis would have rejected girls by telling them he’s going home to Harry, since giving out that information in a situation like that could have got him into a lot of trouble. It is really something to see how the entire tear down of Louis' public image backfired in a huge, huge way for Simon Cowell. And, deservedly so. Cowell was likely in a rage about 1D taking the hiatus, knowing the likely outcome of solo careers. Somehow Cowell thought he could come between the 1D solo artists and their dedicated fans, destroying solo artist careers before they were even begun. Including the only solo artist Cowell signed. Cowell was willing to self-destruct rather than facilitate success for that solo artist. I am so proud of Louis Tomlinson for persevering through all the horrible nonsense that consumed his life for so long... he' has come out of the other side to huge success with his first solo album and world tour. I saw early concerts as well as the recent huge stadium concerts (via livestream). I cannot wait to hear what Louis has in store for us when he releases his next album. The man has a way with lyrics, that is for sure. Always has, and always will. Can't wait for him to launch another world tour, perhaps in 2023 or 2024, because I want to be in attendance! I just hope he is equally happy in his personal life because he deserves the best. He has suffered such great losses, and it is time for him to have equally great comfort. Maybe he is with the love of his life. I hope so for him and his love.

I have a literally knot in my stomach ever since I “discovered “ the most precious human being Louis 3 weeks ago. Yes I am late to the party. Never “followed” 1D back in the day(knew about Little things but that was about it). I got recommended a song in my Spotify recently Night Changes and fell in love. Louis is an angel. I went back to read some news articles and the amount of shit he has received through out his career is disgusting. Everything 2015-2016 just pains my heart. At least when he had to take distance from Harry he still had Zayn (those boys had the most precious friendship imo), but then that whole shit show. No matter his sexuality, this lad was treated like shit.

Ouch, this hurts. They were still so young when all this was happening. As a mum of three, if anyone pulled this shit with any of my babies I would lose it! I don't know how their parents kept quiet? (I assume they were all made to sign confidentiality agreements too) I'm relatively new to all this but I'm 100% larry. I was a massive Boyzone fan and I still remember when Stephen Gately came out, it was such a shock because he had been so well closeted. There is examples all through music history, from George Michael, Lance Bass (Nsync), Steo - RIP (Boyzone), Mark Feehilly - Westlife and many more. But it's 2021 and it's far more accepted in the music industry in general (think Sam Smith, Olly Alexander) so why are they still being closeted?!

Their situation can’t really be compared to Sam Smith or Olly Alexander because of the way 1D came to fame and the complicated mess of old contracts that still bind them. Also, especially Olly Alexander is nowhere near as big as 1D was and is, so that makes things different.

@@anniemack6855 yes, I'd heard that she and others had called out the toxic environment, she should have been huge but she was kept down, like James Arthur (and many others from the show who didn't fit the mould (or refused to fit it)) The problem is, the majority of record companies seem to function the same, Harry has changed management but isn't any better off really (apart from possibly making his own music), Zayns management have treated him shit. What's an artist to do if they want to get their music out there they have to sell their souls?! Hopefully more independents will come along but it would require a huge boycotting of the big record companies to really change anything and that would also hurt their artists 😕🤷‍♀️

Thank you so much for making these! I had not seen that clip where the TV host immediately puts forward his opinion on live TV that it’s a stunt. I can’t decide if I think he was a Larrie before the segment - I think there is a slight chance he might have been and he saw the opportunity and went with it. He did, after all, seem to at least know who Louis was, correcting the female host’s pronunciation. Regardless of whether he was already a Larrie or not, it is very telling that he chose to share his theory on live TV and seemed very confident in it. As for headcanons, I have like certain time periods where I believe they were together and others that are more fuzzy. Like I think they got together in 2010 very early, during x-factor. And I think they are together right now in 2021 and have been for a while, like probably since like at least 2018ish. But it’s the in between I’m not sure on. A lot of songs indicate breakup/s or at least extreme rough patches in their relationship, I just don’t really have a strong opinion on when these might have been. But you are right, it seems like they were together during the MITAM promo and this makes me happy 🥰

I think people tend to take some things too literally. I don’t think song lyrics can be used as “proof”, even though their lyrics are definitely personal. For example, there are specific lines that have clearly been put in to fit the public narratives. One of the most obvious ones is “meet you at your uni”, as Eleanor was supposedly a university student when she started dating Louis. I also consider the line “it’s been two years since I’ve seen your face” as a line that’s there to fit the public narrative, since Louis and Eleanor supposedly got back together after two years. Many people seem to take that line as evidence of Larry breaking up for two years, but I don’t think that things like that can be considered evidence of anything, and like I said, there is a clear reason for putting in that line. Considering the situation they are in and everything they have gone through in the past eleven years, I think it’s evident that they have had rough patches, and I think that the emotions in their songs are real emotions they have gone through, but some of them are written in a way that fits the relationships that the songs are supposed to be about (like Fine Line (the album) is supposed to be about Harry’s relationship and breakup with Camille, so it has songs that fit that narrative, Cherry being the most obvious one). I think it makes perfect sense for them to write about their relationship problems in a way that sounds like breakup songs. Of course, we can’t know for sure the details of their relationship, but I rather believe in continuity of things if there is no clear evidence of something else, and some of the breakup theories don’t even fit into any timelines.

If the only evidence is song lyrics or a joke on stage that has been taken out of context, that’s not really evidence. I just rather look at facts instead of creating headcanons. It seems to me that some people like to think of H & L’s relationship as very stormy and unstable, even if there is no real reason to think that, and some people tend to ignore everything else that was going on in their lives and causing them distress, and instead interpret everything to be about their relationship.

Yeah, like I said in the video, that story was around way before that headline about trashing a hotel room. After people found out that two of them were probably sharing a room, Louis started saying that he sleeps in the bus. I mean, sure, you can believe that he actually liked to sleep in the bus, but I think it’s more likely that their team just made him say that to shut down the rumours.

I think that there are a lot of aspects about their relationship that are private and that, I feel, are none of our business, even if they use those things as inspiration to their songwriting. Many fans seem to read their songs as diary entries, but to me that feels like an unintelligent way of interpreting song lyrics. Strong emotions are often the best source of inspiration, and no one wants to listen to a full album of “I still love my long-term partner and life is pretty nice”. That doesn’t mean that a songwriter needs to have very stormy relationships and frequently break up and make up to write interesting songs. Everyone has strong emotions occasionally, even if they are in a very stable relationship. A songwriter can then catch those emotions and work from them. So, we don’t know how big or small those ups and downs might have been that have inspired their songs. They might have felt sad and hurt after a relatively small fight, but then used those feelings as an inspiration to write a really dramatic song. They could even have strong emotions over something that happened with someone else, such as a friend, a relative or someone they work with, or even something abstract like fame or the music industry, and they could use those feelings to write a song that just sounds to the listener like it was about a romantic partner. For example, Lewis Capaldi has said that he wrote his song Someone You Loved about his late grandmother, even though a lot of people interpret it as being about an ex-partner, and the song is written in a way that leaves it open to that interpretation. Lyrics can have many meanings and the real inspiration behind them may not be what people would think, and lyrics can be very personal to the writer even if they don’t directly reflect real-life events, and they can be written from personal experience even if there is a lot of imagination mixed in. So, I don’t really get the point in the fandom’s obsession over making timelines and trying to prove real-life events based on song lyrics. I listen to the lyrics to connect with the emotions and thoughts they are expressing - not to try to figure out details of their relationship.

After have seen all the parts, but, above all, the whole video collection of those years all around YT till today, and after have been listening to all the songs they wrote for each other I think that actually and sadly there was more than a little bit of truth in those you call trash press articles... Louis was not confident about himself, with his role in the band, with his voice, he became the littlest one, thin and shorter, when at the begin was the oldest, not less talented of course, but surely insecure, the writing role was his habitat and his way to keep the leadership. He was the spokesman, the one who decided games and rules and roles, probably along with years this wasn't enough to face rumors about him being harry little princess... I think that at a point he was out of control. He slept with many girls, probably drunk or other, and we all know today, in 2022, that Freddy is his son. He isn't the first gay man to do it. Harry tells us with MyPoliceman all the story. I have seen how different and closer they were during MIAM promo tour before the hyatus, they sat next, touching each other, but at the end Harry choose freedom while Louis choose to continue to work with Simon and this is what took them separate I think. The Louis denial about his sexuality is still present today after 6 years and he is free to do what he want to do. Sad but true.

Your comment is very confusing. Most of my video is about how One Direction’s team used tabloid media for building a narrative. What’s written in the tabloids is not necessarily the truth. According to tabloids, both Harry and Louis used to sleep around, but I don’t believe that to be true. I don’t think either one of them has slept around. I don’t believe Louis has a child. Not even one, and there is no “other child”. According to the public narrative, he has one, but that narrative was clearly built to closet him and Harry, to create a specific image and to shatter Louis’ reputation. There is way too much evidence pointing to him not being a father. The whole point of this video was to show how 1D’s team worked closely with certain tabloids and certain journalists in order to push certain stories and narratives and to create certain images for each one of the boys. Of course they are able to see each other while on tour. They are millionaires, they can do a lot of things. Obviously, no one can know for certain what’s happening in their private lives because it’s, well, private. But I have no reason to doubt them.

I’m fine with not knowing the details of their relationship, so it doesn’t really matter to me, but I think it’s silly when people try to draw a definitive timeline of their relationship based on their song lyrics - even when it contradicts with the timeline of events we have actually seen. It feels like a mockery of their song writing skills when people claim that H & L can only write songs about things that have happened to them. If you want to believe that their songs tell the exact truth and that they have no imagination, you are free to believe so, but I disagree. I’m not saying that they haven’t experienced the feelings they write about, but you can experience those feelings even without breaking up and getting back together. People can feel emotional distance in a relationship, relationships can have ups and downs and different phases. You can even experience those emotions by empathising with other people’s experiences and reflecting them to your own life. Some people have written great love songs without ever being in a relationship. People write songs, novels, poems, plays, and so on, about a lot of things that have never happened to themselves. I guess those who think that song lyrics are absolute proof of real-life events have never done anything creative in their lives… But like I said, it doesn’t really matter to me whether they broke up at some point. I just find it silly when people come up with the most implausible timelines just so that they fit into whatever narrative that person wants to believe in.

I have a strong feeling this account has been published by someone extremely close to louis or from himself. It sounds so true and believable. Everyone felt the change in his behaviour in coming years it was more like and artificial pretend smile.
