A Test of Leadership: How Small-Scale Battles Define the Civil War in East Tennessee

The small-scale battles were much more common throughout the war but also more commonplace in East Tennessee. Looking through the lens of the Battle of Mossy Creek, we will look at how these battles often were directly impacted by the decisions and abilities of Lt. Colonels, Majors, Captains and Non-Commissioned Officers.
