Before going to sleep gotta leave this comment before i forget - I noticed alot of people in stream talking about end game stuff yet from my own memory of playing, we will take forever to reach that (especially the casuals amongusus). Obviously there are obvious strategies like tree spirits for rune axe, zamorak people for rune scimmy ect. Like a video for a list of goals for people to aim to complete (since they give powerful upgrades to your account so those actions are given priority)

Kourend and dessert just hold so much value AND Asgarnia feels like a hard to pass on if you plan to melee at all. Kind of sucks you only get 3, but I respect it. I think to some degree, people should think about what style they will use and use that to determine what regions they will unlock. For instance, if you are going Magic, kandarin is BiS (torment/occult/trident), but it kinda sucks outside that. You'd want Desert for shadow, tome of water and ancients. Then you can go kourend for kodai, tome of fire and ancestral. Ranged, I'd probably go tirawyn, Desert, asgarnia.

As someone that picked Desert as his first region in Trailblazer 1 and then later ended up placing in the top half of Dragon tier, it actually ended up being by far my favorite region and the one I have the most positive memories in. Something that a lot of people don't consider when picking their regions isn't just what content is there, but the quality of it. When I say "quality", though, I'm not talking about "How statistically good is the equipment from it?". I'm talking "How well can you tolerate doing that content, and ONLY that content through to its completion?" A lot of people didn't pick desert in trailblazer 1 because it had basically no endgame content. What they didn't realize was that it was a blessing, not a curse-- The 'worst' content to complete in TB1 desert was full infinity, which was a goal you'd already get halfway to *just getting 99 magic as early as possible through MTA*. The next worst was sorceress' garden, but that also handed you level 90 farming. What's after that? 500 pyramid plunder chests for a master task. Know what happens when you do 500 pyramid plunder chests? Well, if you trained theiving in trailblazer 1 using pyramid plunder, and ONLY pyramid plunder, you'd hit not only the master task for 99 theiving, but you'd also hit the master task for 25m theiving for free as well, effectively making that task a threefer in terms of time spent. Looking at other regions like Morytania, they had tasks that were ludicrously grindy by comparison- Nobody, not a single person in the league got all of the tasks done for Hallowed Sepulchre in TB1. Not a single person got either of the 2 highest-tier ToB related tasks either. Took Kandarin and want to make it into Dragon? Well, how do you feel about doing 2000 ape atoll laps? Fancy killing 4000 chompy birds for that master task? How about killing Kraken 3000 times? In the end, desert's lack of endgame content meant that the region had less points, yes, but the points you got were obtained much faster, and you had lots of easy filler tasks. Every ancient teleport in the spellbook had a task. Each burst/barrage spell had its own task. Now that the desert has more content, I'd expect they'll be replacing a lot of the faster tasks with things like tempoross or ToA, and so the Desert will likely become another region like Morytania where nobody is going to max it out due to raid-related achievements. That being said, a lot of the unlocks like Ancients will still be VERY good and I hope that everybody who takes it this league is going to have just as much fun with it as I did back in Trailblazer one.

Before looking in the comments, I was thinking "i dont want to do the content in desert", but I did do both p plunder in shattered relics and they weren't too bad. On the other hand, I did 2k laps in the last two leagues... i told myself it was a yearly tradition, but now that I've had a gap year to think about it, I don't know if I want to again. That's not even mentioning chompy's and kraken. Aw heeelll no. I got an enchanted triedent with task picker in trailblazer. Was cool to do then, don't need to do it again

@@WeSkillNow Thank you for the kind words! I also went and watched your VOD for making the followup video. The conversation on making a tier list for casual vs non-casual ones is an interesting one that I think is fun to talk about; Personally, I think that a better distinction would be active vs passive play, as both are viable routes to top league placement if you plan your relic and region route accordingly. The margins are pretty lenient too, imo-- In the original trailblazer, my picks ended up being Desert-Kandarin-Morytania (with mage relic as my combat relic), and I feel that Morytania ended up being an almost completely wasted pick as a result of me being much more of a passive player that earned his points via almost exclusively AFK tasks. I only did something like 12 raids in total and wasted an entire week of the league at Nightmare to try and get a nightmare staff. Nightmare and Nex are time-traps in league. Even with the drop rate buffs their uniques are so rare and the kills so long that I feel like they should be among one of the last things you try to do if you decide to actually go for them. By comparison, I got a lot more points even out of regions like Karamja. There were 1500 points related to doing the fight caves in Trailblazer and I got all of them over the course of a couple of days. Like, no joke, I spent two workdays AFKing the fight caves on the side because between the sanguinesti staff/ice barrage, swift casting, and draining strikes I could do every wave except for Jad AFK. I'd just put protect from magic and auto retaliate on and then just let the self healing take care of the rest. Relic choices make a massive difference in terms of what tasks must be done actively or can be made passive, and it was thanks to the likes of draining strikes that I was able to do things like AFK the wyvern visage and dragon full helm without having to bat an eye because I needed the bonecrusher prayer exp to max anyway.

Strongly agree, and Desert Gang was also the best community. I didn't run across too many people, and when I did we would often chat. The desert content was very fresh because nobody actually does much there in the main game other than blackjacking. Pyramid Plunder is fun. Sorceress' Garden is fun. Mage Training Arena is fun for the first half, then excruciating in the second half, but that's still an improvement over the content that's just dull. Definitely picking desert again.

I think the only other argument for Wildy is Hard, Elite and Master Clues. Depending on what we get points for, it could be REALLY useful for speeding up points based around clues.

One thing I think worth mentioning for Wilderness is Revenants. While GP isn’t the most necessary in Leagues because we’re all ironmen, it can still be nice to have that huge nest egg to fall back on if needed. That said, I probably won’t be picking it unless we get to choose a 4th region. It has some sick pets that I’d like to chase and carry from league to league LOL

Underrated perk that fremmy gives on top of the ability to make rejuv pools is the mythical cape tele which you can use to go to the galvek fight. Suicide to him is pretty fast and a ghetto way to get your stats back if you don't have an ornate pool/wildy

In the end, no matter how much theory crafting I do by using Trailblazer 1 as a reference, the tasks I choose will depend on what content I enjoy doing, what regions have tasks i see myself realistically completing, and what relics I choose. Another aspect to consider is what bosses you want to learn with the relic superpowers? In Trailblazer 1, I took to learn Zulrah, and after league I took my training to finally kill zulrah for the first time on my main for the diary task. However, even though I took Asgarnia, I avoided going to the GWD mostly, which did have a ton of tasks in. If I choose Asgarnia again, I would make sure to go there and do not make that mistake again. I am completely content on my choice on Kandarin since I did kill Kraken 750 times, made all zenyte jewelry, and got the chompy pet, but again, I may avoid doing monkey agility. I personally am on the fence about desert because I really would like the skilling opportunities of tempoross, gotr, and giants foundry. On the other hand, I do not like sources garden and mage training arena, but if they have a minigame boost with those somehow, I really am not sure. Peer Pressure may make me get the area to join in TOA. Depends on how many tasks are within that. I would really like to see how they are revamping and updating the task list. I hope they are putting a lot of time into them. The tasks and relics are the most important in the league, everything needs to work. Oversights are just not acceptable. As much as I want the league as soon as possible, I'd be more pleased if they take their time and do their best for the possibility of this Trailblazer being better than the last.

I think a big thing you are missing regarding what regions are best, is that some regions last time had more points than others. So alot matters how well they have changed the tasks if the endgame is getting a specific weapon, but then the content is kinda dead after that, then meh, gotta do all content in the area to get points need to get my 4th dragon trophy so thats gonna matter for me atleast Kan, Asg and Tir was my regions last time.

Nice video! you golden hair is mesmerizing. I don't remember which regions I picked in which order last time. All I remember is that I picked mage build and had a blast of a time. But I do have a goal for this one - get another pet. I already have Thermy, Kraken and Rocky on leagues, which are the only three I also have on my main. I believe that this is not a coincidence, so, next league I intend to get a pet (or pets) so that I could get some motivation for getting them on my main as well.

I wonder if they will balance point gains per region. For instance, last trailblazer picking certain regions unlocked more tasks and increased your total point potential. If that's going to be the same this time then region choices will be set based on that. Or you can be a filthy casual like me and just pick the regions you enjoy playing in the most.

In Leagues 2 my region choice was Kandarin>Asgarnia>Fremmenik. This time I would definitely change things. I'm still torn between two possible routes: Kandarin>Morytania>Asgarnia>(possibly)Kourend[ endgoal being Nex completion with potential Raids 2 and possibly 1] or Kourend>Morytania>Asgarnia>Desert[ Endgoal: all three Raids and God Wars] A comparison of content between Leagues 2 time and today would be an amazing thing to have! One comment for Desert in S tier: for me Mage Training Arena is a reason enough to lower it to A Tier but who knows maybe there will be double or triple points in it so its not so bad.

The Desert is certainly tempting now, especially if we see identical or very similar Tier 6 relics to the first Trailblazer. Last time around, I just wanted a free (and better) blood fury, so I went with Draining Strike to get health and prayer back - but if Weapon Specialist is still around, and interacts with Lightbearer the way I think it does, it's going to be insane. 30% spec every 15 seconds? You might be able to just camp an SGS and constantly spec with it to achieve the same healing effect as Draining Strikes, but if you're healthy you can just unleash spec after spec. On top of that, WS set specs costing over 20% to 20% spec cost - so if that works with Adrenaline pots in ToA, you can probably just DDS spec P3 Warden the whole fight, lol

Two things i think you've really slept on with wilderness is ferox enclave and the rev weapons. If you dont pick fremmy the enclave is incredibly valuable and the rev weapons with the new upgrades are very powerful even outside the wilderness!

Tiranwyn getting slept on by a lot of people IMO. I've been doing DPS calcs using the relics from TBL 1. Bowfa build even without Rigour is absolutely broken with 2t and the buffed t6 relic. It's such a multi purpose build that it slaps literally everywhere. Even at Nightmare which has 600 ranged defence its better than main game weapons. Obviously the melee options with relics will be better but the fact it can be used decently at non ranged bosses shows how OP it is. I'd say currently the Bowfa is the most Versatile OP weapon in the game. Chuck those relics on and it's bonkers. Bowfa on a level 500 lvl 4 kephri is 50% better than a main game full torva fang setup. Kephri has 300 ranged defence! Plus the fact that the bowfas power is basically at peak when you get it. Melee and mage both have so many big DPS items across the game. Bowfa and full crystal is basically at peak DPS with just the Tiranwyn unlock. Leaving you to have more freedom with your final region picks imo. I'm still debating whether it's worth burning a pick on Zeah to get rigour or not. Non of the other Zeah content interests me but DPS from rigour is so big it's hard to ignore. *Also forgot to add. Blowpipe! TOA drops dragon darts and Full masori. With rigour this should make Blowpipe even better than last TBL! I can't wait lmao

@Chaos1044 Google Dps calc by Bitterkoekje. That has a full spreadsheet with all gear loadouts. There's also a checkbox on the right side of the page, which allows you to turn on relics from the previous leagues. Again, bear in mind that these calcs are based on relics from the original TBL. We are likely to get refreshed combat relics, especially with the intro of T7. The combat path might be very different. I just wanted to see how good relic boosted BP and Bowfa were compared to main game bosses you wouldn't normally range. And apparently its pretty fucking good.

I think that giving the Desert a big plus with Guardians of the Rift is an oversight. With last recall, RC is completely viable with nearly any rune. And the exp rates will be SIGNIGICANTLY better than what Guardians of the Rift provides, barring a relic that boosts exp from minigames (which would be very niche and seems like a SRL fragment over a TBL relic). In reality, I think the only OP training methods in the desert are darts and Pyramid Plunder. A relic similar to Production Master would nullify Giants Foundry (unless it has a caveat to only need 1 bar of metal per sword); agility is better is most other regions, even some with lesser leveled courses, just because of the length of agility pyramid and the poorly designed nature of the Pollnivneach course. I think the big draw of the Desert beside TOA is how DT2 will work in conjunction with it. Will we get DT2 auto-unlocked in Misthalin because of the Leviathan? Or will we have to unlock the Desert to have access to any of the bosses regardless of their location? I think an A grade is solid, unless DT2 is requried for access to those bosses, as that quest provides access to bosses in 4 other regions.

Masori loses a bit of charm without access to a good weapon and armadyl armor. I wonder if desert + asgarnia is a solid pairing for that reason? ACB + Masori / Shadow / Fang seems like an excellent loadout to tackle the rest of the game with, and that's ignoring Nex altogether.

Leagues noob here. Screwed myself last league with my choices so I'm trying to do more research going in this time. Does Misthalin count or is it a freebee?? I'm definitely going Desert & Zeah. Morytania is nice for slayer in general, Barrows, prayer training, etc. Torn on the last choice but very familiar with Wilderness content. Landing a big weapon out there would be massive. Mage Arena, Resource Area, Agility Course, Odium/Malediction, tons of supply drops from slayer monsters/revs. I think you are undervaluing it a lot tbh. Love your info though and thanks for the video!

If we get the ability to pick slayer tasks like we had in leagues 2, it's going to be pretty easy to get all revenant weapons. If you were to pick zeah, desert and Wildy, accursed Sceptre would be your best mage weapon until shadow. It's basically a trident of the seas with one less max hit outside of the wilderness. It's a lot nicer than ice barraging everything until shadow. Especially since ovls and salts benefit powered staves a lot.

My goals this league is to get the Sanguine Dust since I got lil zik just before shattered relics ended, so i'll be taking morytania and i also want to pet hunt (i hunted the god wars pets in L3) and get the voidwaker, so i'll be taking the wilderness. and i think to facilitate those options, i think my best choice for third region is asgarnia for the defender, prims, and all the armour and weapons from god wars.

They're really calling the continent Kourend even though the Kebos Lowlands are on the continent as well. Is this like the whole Greater London vs London Proper kind of deal? Anyway, a few thoughts on things you've said. You mentioned amethyst being good for the blowpipe. Don't forget that making darts is locked being a DESERT quest. Last trailblazer when my blowpipe was "shredding", it was doing so with mostly STEEL darts from gwd minions, with a small stash of rune darts from dragon drops. Another thing: in a mode that's confirmed to have last recall, GotR might not really be that prized of runecrafting method outside of the tasks associated with it. Speaking of RC, i'm don't actually know how altar access through the abyss works. Acess to all altars could be useful if it works like that. If not idk, I'm just really looking for reasons to pick the wilderness. All the reward with none of the risk just sounda enticing to me. That clue strat seems pretty enticing to me as well. Clues have been pretty good points in every league. Stackable clues make for a really unique experience I find fun, and the fashionscape isn't bad either. Lastly, I do think relics get slept on in these diacussions. In original traiblazer, me being dead set on the production relic over the gathering relic is what led me to choose T over F in the first place. Having to deal with all Zalcano's ores while not needing blast furnace made it a much better synergy. (In fact, at that point, I'd never set foot in priff, weilded a blowpipe, or known what a gauntlet was. It just followed what a guy told me to). Relics can affect what kind of grinds you end up doing just as much as the regions can, so I'm gonna make sure I learn what all the relics are before I make my final region decisions.

Wildy in F is, pun fully intender, wild. Infinite access ot resources, probably the best DPS spec weapon in the game, wildy slayer bangs for XP when you can pick your tasks, etc. I think you're really misvaluing all you get

Personally I'd put Kandarin down a tier, I think it's more on par with Fremmenik. The xp quests I don't think matter that much, I think it's really only worth considering for zenytes and piety, but like you said those things are pretty optional. I'm really hoping it's 4 regions this time with the addition of Zeah because I can't decide which one to eliminate from Desert, Zeah, Morytania, or Asgarnia. They all have a lot of content I want to do.

The list has basically done a 180 from previously leagues due to how much content has been added to all the previously neglected areas. With Kourend now essentially be a required pick. By the time they do a leagues 5. They'll probably have to start breaking up kourend since it'll be way too content rich.

Ngl, I thought about having kourend + desert + one other land mass, tumekens with ancestral and new relics could be busted af but also the early game can contain master wand and water/fire tomes, but also the mta has infinity robes for mid game so Morton isn't too needed for a lot of things beside mask and tob. Edit: fangs also good in chambers, only issue is early game range since that's needed for most of the raid times, Morton also has good range weapons but I'm sure there's a chance of a rune crossbow via rune limb drop at fossil island or elite caskets

I was an elfy boy in TB1, so I'm curious to see if that ends up viable in this league. Kandarin, tirannwn, asgarnia last time. Zeah is a requirement for just how much is there, plus desert for toa/shadow. What's the third one? Asgarnia? Tirranwn? Kandarin? Morytania is dead if you aren't committing to melee. Slayer helm will be a relic (I probably won't choose it though) If they add that mid level powered staff before leagues 4 then mage is 100% the play, with tumeken shadow and virtus/ancestral on the field, plus zeah rc for souls (I presume a relic for boosted multipliers, plus raiments from gotr) I hope they have a final tier combat relic that doesn't commit you to typing, like either a special attack relic that sets your last recall to 5 minutes, a double attack speed relic that sets your last recall to 1 minute, or a "you can't miss" relic that sets it to 0. Speccing became the name of the game before and I hope they find a creative way to nerf that strategy. I also hope they don't give us more than 4 region choices this time. 3 was a bit too few but more than 4 is not restrictive enough to make meaningful choices. Part of leagues is about sacrifices.

I think Tirannwn is a must pick if you're going ranged, assuming we'll get similar cmb relics as we did in TB1. 2 tick Bowfa and 1 tick blowpipe are too good to pass up. If you are instead going melee, I could still see Tirannwn being alright if you wanted a decent ranged setup regardless.

Love that you always come back with these videos every league. Desert Treasure 2 bosses: Vardorvis - Zeah Leviathan - i don't know but I think it's Misthalin Duke - Asgarnia? Whisperer Asgarnia So how is jagex going to do this? Plus the rings are kinda unnecessary and grindy even with buffed droprates, plus you need fremennik to even be able to get the DT2 rings since you need to DK rings first. Based on all this DT2 is really overrated. Soulreaper axe would be cool but hard to get I would still go desert just for TOA, it will be a really fun raid with the buffs and if one can get a tumekens shadow (we should be able to run like 600 invocation raids fairly easily so the purples should fly in) then I dont see a need for kandarin as we wont need a trident. So I would go 1) prif for the bowfa 2) morytania need a whip 3) desert to do some toa I do think asgarnia and kandarin will have the most tasks though so I might have to do one of those. I also think jagex might change the regions slightly from the last trailblazer leagues

Not to say that this makes Wildy actually meta, but I don't think it's a dead pick either. Accursed Sceptre from the Wilderness is nicer than you'd think. If you're not taking Kandarin for trident, you won't have a powered staff until sang or shadow, and TOA without a powered staff wont be great. Accursed Sceptre functions almost identically to a trident of the seas outside the Wilderness, having 1 less max hit. I also think gaining the Voidwaker is bigger than losing the d pick. It's by far the most accessible, actually powerful DPS spec weapon. Even with leagues droprates and relics grinding d claws or a nihil horn will take a pretty long time for a temporary game mode. If we have a spec relic like the one in last leagues, you are going to absolutely melt bosses with Voidwaker spec spam. Especially in TOA if adrenaline stacks with the relic. Voidwaker also functions as a decent stab weapon in TOA pre-fang. It'll be powerful and fun.

@@nicholasgreen4921 I think there's a good chance it'd be faster to just grind out a Tumeken's Shadow just using the ancient staff or master wand instead of going for a Kodai. COX megarares were a long grind even in leagues 3 since the items are so rare. Meanwhile I'd expect lvl500 TOA to be pretty easy in leagues, and that would give you about 1/60 chance for a shadow per raid assuming 3x droprates. You definitely would want to use the Kodai if you happened to pull one early though, and didnt have sang/trident/sceptre.

I agree. I think it's insanity to not pick Tirannwn if you're going range. Bowfa and BP are very realistically attainable, and make for a terrific setup for your entire leagues experience. Even with the boosted dps and droprates it'll take a long time to get a tbow, and I wouldnt want to be stuck with a rune crossbow until then. And even then you'd want a Bowfa or BP for stuff with low magic level.

Ranged Kourend first (bunch of early and nooby crap to do first to get early levels and etc out of the way, tithe farm for free farming experience to blast your way past some levels, cox late game) Desert second - Ancient magicks, I intend to still do the inferno and I want to try for masori, and fang as its the perfect melee weapon w/out melee relic. Elf land last - Late game skilling area and I want to have the stats to do gauntlet immediately as full crystal + bofa + blowpipe is all I need to do basically most content. Once all the crystal I need is unlocked, I will 100% be doing cox/toa, and thats basically it, will need lots of stamina pots : c. Bofa w/ full crystal will be king 100% for ranged specifically this league, bofa is soo f*cking powerful, soo powerful... The only thing I could see be legitimately better than ranged relic bofa w/ crystal armour is mage w shadow desert, kandarin, and w/e else. Kandarin will 100% be necessary for mage relic, early iban, tormented + occult, besides desert, Kandarin is basically a 100% necessity for mage relic users.

After TB1 they stated they thought recall was too op compared to the other choices, and it's more likely they nerf it with a timer like in dmm than find a viable way to buff the other options. Even still gotr isn't essential nor is foundry, but there's a lot of content there now. Temp gives fishing cooking and cons supplies/levels and unlimited water runes if that's your thing, mage relic may be the way if you go desert, but there are mines, 3+ agility methods, hunter, slayer, and bis thieving methods. Toa is huge for the supplies it drops, downside is no herb patch unlock there. Overall it's super solid now

I suppose the value of each area is going to depend upon your goals for the league, so here are some of my thoughts. If you are going for trophies the new static thresholds make an areas points per hour much more valuable than its total points offered imo. The task list will be getting changed up a bit, but Wilderness and Desert were both pretty good last TBL for this purpose. I could see Desert being bogged down a lot by all its new content like TOA, but I could see Wilderness possibly being a top-tier region for rushing a dragon trophy. Last TBL offered a lot of easily completable high-value tasks. The major changes to Wildy since last TBL have made it more appealing to take as a mid-game area. Wilderness weapons received a drop rate increase and have upgrades from the wildly bosses now too. Wildly bosses were reworked and can now be killed in minimal gear and offer pretty good skilling supplies. Revs give you a crazy amount of starting gp as well. The Wilderness content is overall just not that grindy except Corp, and you should be able to skip those tasks. We'll ultimately have to wait and see what areas offer the easiest points. Something to consider is that we don't know if combat relics are style-specific or more general or how they will augment our damage. Tirannwn could potentially be a top-tier area for ranged gear because Bowfa benefits from the half attack speed relics from the last TBL more than a Tbow does because Tbow is a odd tick weapon on rapid (therefore it gets rounded up). The relics might also boost DPS like shattered relics (chance to double hit) and that would favor Tbow. A weird weapon like a Venator bow might also have neat interactions with relics like exploding attacks. A Zaryte crossbow or voidwaker + lightbearer could be crazy with a spec relic. Another thing of note is we currently don't know if Desert treasure auto completes in certain areas. You might need both the Desert and Asgarnia to kill Nex because of The Frozen Door (could be a big blow to people going for torva). Muspah requires Secrets of the North and that needs Desert treasure to be started . If it does auto complete those areas could have access to ancients unlike last TBL. Soulreaper axe will also not be possible to make unless they expand the number of areas we get.
