Strobe can be disorientating for the person behind the light as well. I much prefer just an intense turbo, anyone on the wrong end of it is 100% focused on shielding their eyes and not able to focus on whoever is behind the light.

I like the fact that it doesn’t have strobe. Strobe is overrated.

Strobe is overrated in what way? As a self defense feature?
@jonathancaldentey4615
@jonathancaldentey4615 Ай бұрын
I agree to some degree. From my understanding, a good turbo is more effective, specially inside. While turbo will just disorient both of you. That being said, I’m not sure if that’s still true outside, and even if it is, strobe is still a good form of signaling. I would say I prefer no strobe as I never used it, even in the tactical sense, but it’s important to some. Do you think that’s an issue that can be solved by allowing the UI to active/deactivate a strobe mode? Kind of like a tac/duty UI options.
@kithng

@@jonathancaldentey4615 that's it, strobe is good for signaling, but Turbo is more effective in self defense.

The built in battery will come nowhere close to lasting as long as the LED’s. So it’s basically disposable.

I like Nitecore’s designs and their lights perform great but I will never spend money on a light with a built in or proprietary battery. Too many good options that take standard sized batteries for me to pick something that doesn’t.

I wish Olight would get on board with something in this style. There’s sort of falling behind in certain areas. Imagine if the guts from this flashlight were in one of their sexy shells.

A sealed cell in a 160 light like this is downright pathetic!! This company is going backwards!!

@@markpettie681 I definitely agree. I would probably wait for version two if they actually make the battery removable. I don’t know why they did that.

I like having the option of strobe, nitecore says the sealed battery is necessary for cooling. I'm not sold on nitecore durability, my mh25 stuck on moonlight after rolling off counter onto tile floor. My TM9K Tac has to be aggressively tapped to turn on, after it smacked a door frame while in a cargo pocket.

The strobe is a feature that I never use, just as all professional flashlight users do. So I can only be happy to not have a strobe mode in the TM09K Pro. This flashlight is a great illumination tool, at the limit of the possibility of current technology. For the price of this light, I was expecting a charge port cover like the one in the SRT7i, not a tiny rubber doodle. Once the flap is gone, the entire will become unusable at the first splash of water; this is a bad thing for a £ 150 flashlight. The TM09K Pro is an amazing light but it is limited to some kind of users - mostly security workers that are issued a work light; a private user wouldn't buy a flashlight with the battery sealed inside; shipping the light for repair to China from the UK with a good courier - costs an hair below £ 100. I understand this light draws a peak of more than 20 Ampere from the battery; therefore the cell must be a specialist component, not your run-of-the-mill 21700 cell; and the connections to the LED driver can't go thru a tailcap screw or a switch, as they would cause an excessive voltage drop. The impossibility for the end user to replace the cell, the excessive cost of an OEM cell replacement - there are no Nitecore technical labs in either EU or US; consider the long charging times and the fact the TM09K Pro doesn't work when connected to the charger, unlike the EDC33 and the SRT7i which operate while charging - all of this limits the type of person who decides to buy it. Being a flashaholic, the above considerations doesn't apply to me. I'm happy to operate a wonderful flashlight; and when the battery gets flat, I have other lights available. Being the TM09K Pro both sealed and with a short runtime, I have a P23i or an Acebeam P18 which work with bog-standard 21700 cells. Like as at a gala dinner, you start with the finest wine, and end the night with watered down jug wine. Thank you for the video! Greetings, Anthony

All professional flashlight users don’t want strobe? Strobe is usually set aside for tac style flashlights for self defense purposes

Nitecore needs to change back to STROBE and get away from the sealed battery! Because Lumin shield and search modes aren’t long enough just 8 to 10 seconds not good!

For me the built in battery is a deal breaker. I want to be able to insert a replacement battery if the one inside the flashlight is drained. I don't want to carry another flashlight as backup.
@ChrispyThings

Here’s the thing. It’s a deal breaker for most people. So that makes it even more confusing why some companies keep doing it. I’d like an official explanation on why the built in battery is better from someone at nitecore

This modern convention of 10k, 50k, 80 K lumens as a feature, BUT only Last 10 or 20 seconds is absolute garbage. It’s like saying my four-cylinder micro car Can go faster than a Bugatti, only if I drop it off a cliff! All the high-power lights I’ve personally built, e.g. 30 K lumen at 5,000,000 cd, shines at that brightness for the complete run of the battery not just a gimmick, which I fear these lights are being sold mostly on. It’s not actually a legitimate performance claim.
