@@frankthetank6558 I've definitely explored a few mines in the state, but most of them have ended up being flooded or filled with bad air and unstable ground. Colorado also has a crazy mine closure program, and hundreds of mines are sealed off every year, making it alot more difficult to find explorable mines in the state 😞
@TVRExploring2 ай бұрын
Colorado's mine closure program is insane... I can't imagine what their budget must be to so aggressively close and destroy historical mines, but they are spending a lot of taxpayer money! At some point, I'm going to publish a video about this topic called "Colorado Hates Mine Explorers" or something like that.

That waterline was very high, and the protection by wood was non existing, in some parts i got the Mc Murphy feeling by looking at that lol. Nice explore including a interior water fall, and some very nice old stuff like the carts.

Maybe the level of nastiness is what saved those ore cars from becoming yard art. That rusted out gold pan and the ore car was just amazing to see. Somebody was messing around in there at some point post plastic pipe invention, and that wheelbarrow looks exactly like mine which 25-30 years old. Can't really see that the later miners (?) did anything. Too bad all those ladders were so rotted out, no telling what might be up there. Another awesome explore!

what an epic camp spot. Do you know how many feet a day, on average, could be advanced in a hard rock mine? With infrastructure in place i.e. track and cars and such.
@TVRExploring2 ай бұрын
There are so many factors involved that you cannot know for sure for any particular mine. It depends on the quality of the miners that are working the mine, it depends on how many things go wrong while they're working (and things always break down and go wrong), it depends on the type of rock, it depends on how many men were working there, it depends on the equipment they were using... All of that said, I can generalize to say that the miners could have pushed up to four feet a day if they were working multiple shifts and were on top of their game. That's with nothing going wrong though.

I found the location of a gold mine that has a good chance of still being open, if you're interested in possibly exploring it, let me know. You have to hike in to get to the mine. I've been following you for a long time, I know you don't need any help in finding mines.🫡
