Been watching your back catalog and just wanted to say what amazing job you’ve done educating those children they will have life skills few others will ever know. Then you add in 24/7 quality parenting rather than working parents with kids in nursery care almost no children get these days. Doing an amazing job with great content to boot 👍👍. Before I get trolled I know nursery care is most families only option but it’s nice to see alternative solutions working so well.

You guys are amazing.. i literally can not to wait to see all the journey of your new build. Its crazy but i love it. 😂😂❤ i cant wait to see the kids reactions properly when they first go inside of it. I would keep them from going in when it gets closer so it a nice surpirse for them. The older daughter is getting older so the space will be a life saver for you guys as you grow as a family. You are such a courageous family doing this full time. I totally admire you all and as a team well done. BLESSINGS from the heart and soul.. ❤

If you use led lights, rather than bulbs, voltage drop becomes far less of an issue. It’s a function of current and cable length, or rather the resistance of the length of cable. If you draw no current at all, you’ll have no voltage drop at all, no matter how thin the cable. So, use low current leds and you’ll minimise the possibility for voltage drop to occur, meaning you can use thinner, lighter, cheaper cables. I’m a professional marine electrician and I wire new build 80’ barges for a living. Your lorry, and mine too, are babies by comparison and also less susceptible to dampness, due to the absence of a bilge below the floor, with 6” of water permanently slopping around in it. That means the same strict standards to avoid moisture ingress don’t need to be taken and you can use the low voltage connectors that come with your accessories, saving time and money. I’m happy to see you’re having separate lighting circuits. A tip to bear in mind, for safety and ease of use. Each compartment should have lights from at least two separate circuits. That way, no compartment can be plunged into darkness by a single fault. In sleeping compartments I run the overhead lights on one of the main lighting circuits and the reading lights from a separate circuit. Bathrooms I put the overhead light on one circuit and the mirror light on another. In larger areas, like the galley or the living area, I like to split the overhead lighting between two circuits, because of higher traffic. In a typical 30’ broad beam, I’ll have 3 lighting circuits in total, divided up so no compartment is lit by only one. When choosing cable sizes, the cable manufacturer can give you drop tables, so you know what voltage drop to expect for a given load over a given length. Or, even easier, the equipment installation instructions will always tell you what diameter you need for a given distance from the battery. But, remember you need to measure the distance using the cable route, not the crow flies distance. It’s the length of the cable that matters. Sorry, a lot of stuff in there and I’m trying not to introduce maths, which confuses people more than helping them. I’m just slightly surprised at you needing 3mm cable for a light, in such a small vehicle (compared to what I’m used to!). Unless it’s a 60watt conventional bulb, that seems like overkill. On the other hand, it’s far better to overspecify. No cable ever got hot because it was thicker than necessary. One place where you’ll need far heavier cable than you’d expect, is in the fridge circuit. That doesn’t draw much, overall, but when it’s stopped and just turning on, there’s a momentary surge and if the voltage at the controller falls below 11.5, for a nanosecond, the fridge won’t start and will probably give you a low voltage error. It’s common to see 6sq or even 10sq for a fridge, despite the 5, or 7.5 amp fuse. Read the manual and don’t scrimp.

Can you post a link to the door supplier? I'm really enjoying your been build. I'm guessing you'll be putting solar on the roof and I wonder how you'll mount the panels given the thin non-load bearing roof? Keep it up guys.

If the weight limit was super tight you could have gone with lithium batteries to save a few lbs... though the upfront cost is higher.

Just have to ask, on days out you sometimes don’t have your dog with you. Does he stay in the van? Also do you make many friends on the road? Many of your stays seem to be one or two nights and move on? Thanks for sharing your travels. Just love watching. 😊

Hi well done may I offer my experience of the door you have as I have the same door and locker doors. On the corners of the frames they aren’t welded and water sits in the gap between door and frame and then leak through the corners into your lorry. Mine have done this very annoying. I putCT1 on the underside of the corners to seal them. They do condensate a lot in winter and if you have the fluffy strip it freezes to the frame and you can’t open the door, I had to remove mine. Hope that makes sense

I had same thoughts, break down on a uk motorway and you now put yourself in a dangerous situation if you needed to get into the van for anything.
@Touringwiththekids Жыл бұрын
And if we break down on an EU road it'll be safe, the compromise is the same. Our motorhome had the door on the EU side and our panel van has it on the UK side, having experienced both, we think having it the EU side is more beneficial 😀

The flip down steps on the back of Sainsburys home delivery vans, would fit the bill I think. They were very strong and hinged low down and swung through 90 degrees to the down position and effectively counter balanced so they remained in the up posoition on the road, except when going through deep water!
