G'Day Baradul, just a reminder, that in one of the last video's before your retreat, you got a couple of mortar-8(C), and at the time you mentioned about streamlining the Ryoken by removing the LRM's. Also, the Blood Asp has way too much ammunition - you could probably drop 3-4 tons and still have enough (as it currently has enough for 28 turns of combat). And lastly, there was a mech with a LRM-20 and -15 - you mentioned about dropping the -20 to -15 for more LRM ammunition. Just thought to mention all of this, as my favourite part of the videos are the builds.....

Glad you enjoyed the holiday break Bara. This mission might have been the hangover though, talk about a rough ride. Just an idea, for the new play through perhaps turn the difficulty down to make it easier in terms of being a loot goblin and trying different builds? One of the aspects of this series which I find most enjoyable is trying different builds, finding new wacky gear and generally exploring all the different possibilities.

Before I watch the actual mission - when you were in the garage and picking mechs, you were a 6 tons over ... but you had the 7.5 ton elementals that don't a whole lot. No idea if the bolo was a better pick than the mech you had there - I'll have to watch it, but ... Edit: Watched it - yeah, taking the battle armor + bolla didn't provide a lot of benefit. Not sure if the overheated would have done you a lot of good or the RAC/5 - but the bolla had just a couple of streak hits, and the BA did nothing. Reminder that you will still want to setup a LRM-15(C) instead of a 20 in your Ryoken. Plus, you have those MTR(8) C from the last mission of 2024 to consider - the air-burst ammo seems to be very efficient at dealing with flyers. Also, I should say that you want to reconsider the difficulty settings / roguetech settings you have. In particular the spawn of support lances - when you are in non-clan space and dealing with 2 lances of 4 mechs, then yeah, dealing with a support lance is 12 units total - to your 8 + 4 vehicles, so more or less fair. In clan space, it's stars of 5, so 3 starts is 15 units. Finally, you really should consider building those stealth flyers - the chem laser stealth has way more sustain than the 22t flying your just lost, plus can mount AMS.

Would be funny to see a mech with as many Arrows as feasible. Or maybe a melee mech with as much speed and stealth as possible. A ninja mech.

In my current play through of RT ive got a 20t mech that moves 20 hex sprints 25hex and that’s without the M.A.S.C or supercharger being turned on, its crazy

Dude I think using phantom before you move gives you extra evasion and that is what makes you harder to hit. Using it after you move is wasting it in my opinion.

Remember that weapons are not garbage or not garbage (ok, some are not good at all) but situationally useful. Very Long range engagements do not favour SB gauss but medium to long with the enemy clumped up are great. Especially on reasonably flat terrain without too many movement penalties. Essentially you want a mech like that to get around and get out if needed. I've had some hilarious double kills with SB gauss. Just to add, I dislike using flying vehicles these days. With their elevation and the gunnery skills of the opfor, they are far more often exposed than your ground units. They have their uses, mostly I stick close to a cluster of units (turning on AMS flare, you should do that at the start) and within range of units with AMS to protect the flyer, then scoot out when needed to pick off vulnerable targets.
