Today the family helps me clean my shop so my sanity level will stay stable. I show you some awesome old projects that have never been seen on youtube before. I also show some failed knife attempts I did years ago. After we are all done cleaning the shop, I give you a tour of it. I hope you guys will enjoy this!
I want to see what your shop looks like. Send me a DM on Instagram a picture of your shop and I will post it on my story. But hurry, I will only be posting the first 20 of you guys. I think it would be cool to see other makers shops! :)

I am a full-time Mastersmith knifemaker, and I love my job! I specialize in forged fixed blade knives and also make many other types of beautiful knives.
In March of 2007, I went to the W.F. Moran School of Bladesmithing in Old Washington, Arkansas where I took a two week class on Intro to Bladesmithing under ABS Mastersmiths Bert Gaston and Greg Neely. This is where I learned how to make a blade that would pass the ABS Journeyman Smith Performance Test, after that I took a class on Handles and Guards under ABS Mastersmith Jim Walker where I learned how to make handles out of stag, exotic woods and many other materials.
In June, 2011 I received my Mastersmith Stamp at the Atlanta BLADE Show. Now that I have been granted my MS certification I have a desire to expand my field and continue learning and teaching what I learn, God has given me all the opportunities and teachers that I’ve had and I thank Him for giving me the ability to do something I love.
Follow me on this journey!
Thanks for watching
Enjoy!

Hi Kyle!! I am 15 and an aspiring blade smith so I am loving these videos and this channel has quickly become my favorite on KZbin! I have been making knives for around 9 months now and you video have Taught me a lot and inspire me. I have also seen pictures of some of your knives which have beautiful Hamon lines and I was curious as to how you do your Hamons as I would like to do one on one of my knives.

Great to see the shop - particularly hearing the stories behind each tool. Even better was to see the fun and loving interactions you have with your family.

I think the best thing about your knife making and shop is that your entire family gets involved at times. It is refreshing to see a family work together like this without the bickering and arguing that usually seems to happen when an entire family is involved.

Boy, compared to that place I must be a minimalist. 2 bench grinders, a 6x48" belt sander and a 1X30" belt sander and a 2 horse bench mill. Oh and a 1906 coal fired forge. I am somewhat jealous

Minimizing the amount of horizontal surfaces you have is the best way to de clutter. Horizontal surfaces always end up covered in crap.

KyleRoyerKnives think of it this way when your busy is it easier to place something g a a flat surface or but it back where it belongs. Almost all the time the answer will be I’ll just put it here and clean it up later. Then later turns into finding empty paper towel rolled hidden on a shelf from god knows when. I have two work benches in my shop a metal working bench and an other bench and even the. They get cluttered quickly. Love your shop though I’d kill for a mill and a surface grinder. Or a floor that doesn’t fill with water when it rains but that’s a story for another day. Keep up the good work!
