Not sure why book videos are so entertaining. I’ve purchased so many math books but I’ve only read maybe 20% of them cover to cover. A lot of them are far too advanced to read but it’s sort of like buying a set of weights to get in shape and then never touching them.

I own a great many of the books you reviewed --- I fully agree with your comments! I also have books which I shall likely never read. Thank you!! I look forward to viewing other videos you have produced. Thank you!

The Way of Analysis is an Amazing book. Reading through it is like sitting in a really good lecture on Real Analysis. It illustrates and explains things well. Some people think it is too verbose and prefer baby Rudin, which is down to business,

This was a very nice video, thanks a lot. I'm currently trying to learn the basics of topology before relearning calculus and/or learning math analysis, so I'll be coming back to this video to check those book recs in a few months (hopefully 😅). See you around!

I sent that Visual Complex Analysis book back because the printing was absurdly terrible. I think the 2nd edition.

That's sad to hear. The printing of the first edition was done well.

You have some gems Multivariate Mathematics is really expensive and I looked for Lang's Calculus of several variables and couldn;t find any copies. Spivak isn't cheap either.
@learningasahobby7905 ай бұрын
I didn't realize how much the price of Multivariable Mathematics has increased! It was around $50 new when I bought it. While it's a great book, I certainly can't recommend picking it up for the going price now. It's really shameful how expensive math and science books have become. Edit: It does look like the paperback version is a lot cheaper at least. I would recommend that option if you really want the book. Charging $250 for the hardcover is outrageous IMHO.

@@learningasahobby790 I didn't realise there was a soft cover. Thanks. The price of some of these books is pretty nuts. Hubbard and hubbart is another one that's hard to find cheap.

Thanks for the video, on 4 semester of applied math bachelor, question, multivariable calculus is not the same as vector calculus?
@learningasahobby7904 ай бұрын
They're the same subject but some colleges break multi-variable calculus into two semesters. Some colleges don't include Stokes theorem and differential forms in their multivariable calculus course so they create another course that covers any of the omitted topics which would fall under the title of Vector calculus. At least that's how they do it at my college but some colleges include everything under the title of multi-variable calculus.
