@@livingonthetyne Yes they’re gonna build a brand new complex eventually. But the old training ground needed an urgent overhaul as it had been untouched in years. It was totally unsuitable for a League 2 team, never mind a Premier League team! And definitely not good enough for a Champions League team! 🖤🤍😊

I'm not sure - when they've spoken about an ultra-modern training complex ala Man City the point has always been to get the Mens, Womens and youth teams all training in the same mega-facility with everything unified. It's a nice idea, but another possibility is that they rent or sell it on to Gateshead or Wallsend Boys Club - I wouldn't be surprised if the club are in negotiations as we speak with Gateshead about using the International Stadium while work gets done on St James'.
