Nope I strongly disagree! That will be more money lost to foreign countries. Ideally we should operate our own version so we can keep the tax money and profits circulating with the Kenyan Economy. We have the educational and technolgy capacity to make it happen and beyond. The problem is we have way more thieves to make sure it will not work, like Chris Kirubi aka "Dj CK".

@JudeMarchisio5 жыл бұрын
Not every mall needs an IMAX. It's extremely expensive to buy those projector lamps and maintain them. The CBA may show it won't be worth competing against 2 other IMAX cinemas in the same city.
@jeremyclyde30065 жыл бұрын
@@JudeMarchisio You clearly have never been to a movie premiere. The CBD IMAX is not even competition, there's no parking, no waiting area and it's a bit congested and I personally don't know anyone who still goes there after Garden city imax opened. And I never suggested every mall to have an IMAX... there are certain things a mall of its size should not miss out on. I visit garden city more than I visit two rivers yet its closer...

@kimnya17225 жыл бұрын
I agree this mall is more like an expensive fountain that you d put at your house for aesthetics but from an investment perspective most mpesa shops make more sense.. this mall cannot pay for itself even in 50 60 years due to afew factors :. 1. its built by foreigners which in turn makes the shops too expensive to rent .2. mainstream Kenyans don't shop in malls ,simply cant afford the prices. you may see a lot of ppl esp during week ends but they go there site seeing , to eat ice cream or drink coffee. this magnitude of investment cannot be sustained by just that . real talk!

Uchumi and Kenatco was bankrupted by a culture of thieving by staff and accountants, a pervasive culture that would paralyze any well intentioned efforts of a manager or chairman. I personally suffered a painful experience at the hands of these staff in 1999 and I would hesitate to dish out blame on Mr Kirubi. Anyone would have failed under the circumstances.

@Cynchronia5 жыл бұрын
Antony Apudo so is your issue with gender inequality or design/architecture? And are you purporting that the mall will close down because you won't visit again? Just seeking clarity.
@antonyapudo89545 жыл бұрын
@@Cynchronia just to clarify I have no issues just stating a fact and constructive criticism that might help Dr. And James with phase 2 n 3 of this project if they choose to listen. Yes it will close as a shopping mall and converted to boring office blocks n a hotel but not as shopping mall and not because I will not visit but because of companies like Amazon, Safaricom Soko. Architecture wanting you can't have very big ugly pillar columns in the middle of walkways that's an eyesore, hazardous, fire hazard, security harzard and an obstruction. The last Mall to have pillars in the middle of corridors was Sarit build in 1983 what does that say about the architect... No straight man is known to be good in interior deco that's the other area this Mall has failed the theme, color scheme waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to boring and dull just shows there weren't enough ladies in the board room or in position of influence to help and influence with this project. Don't get sidetracked by the colorful posters of Kenyan celebs in the un occupied shop the mall is the biggest ugliest Mall in Africa unless you think the ones in Eastleigh are also malls. Lol.

Apudo, you must be an Architect or an Arch student. They see what others don't see in structures. Criticize in a layman's language which ordinary ppl can understand, otherwise they will misunderstand you.
