This is so lovely that I’m still watching it all the way through, and it’s 2021. The bride and her wedding kimono are beautiful, and the groom is so handsome and dignified in his haori and hakama (please excuse me if that’s the wrong word- I looked it up on Google). They both look so happy! I hope they have had a good life together since then, and I hope they have many more years of happiness together.

While my family was stationed in Misawa Japan in the mid 70s, my parents and another couple were invited to a friend's Shinto wedding. The Priest's assistant invited them in to sit in on the ceremony. It was a great honor to be invited in.

There is no single kissing shown to the bridegroom in front of public, just to respect the attendees and show how respectful and great japanese culture is. Kissing and some other things are supposed to be cherished privately and exclusively between spouses.

With the married status, you can visit your other half’s should they be hospitalised. With the married status, you can sign the documents on your other half’s behalf should they need surgery when unconscious. With the married status, you are entitled to collect his corpse when he died. Without the married status, you may even be refused to attend their funeral should their family members dislike you. It happens a lot with gay couples.
