Floppy action is my pet peeve. Hey Jay! Please do yourself a favor and do a spine whack test on you OG Moyarl. They have been known to have lock failure issues. Out of the two I own, the lock on one EASILY fails a spine whack test, but the other one I have is fine. It's great to have you back. Keep 'em coming!

I bought a MKM Yipper that would allow the cutting edge to hit the barrel spacers when closed. I immediately found several other owners with the same problem. I really like that knife and hope they fix the problem in the future. The biggest disappointment for me is that retailers that know there is a problem aren’t just continuing to sell the knife, they are actively hyping it in videos. Maybe it’s just a small number that are having the issue though.
@TheKnifeBeater10 ай бұрын
I have actually seen a few written reviews mentioning that same issue. Unfortunately, it looks like many channels are focused on sales and less about actual honest info. Oof!! The pocket clip is a pure design fail, the lockbar clearance COULD be an execution fail, but I lean to design. They wanted the Anti-Harsey, using the thinnest cuts for the lockbar possible. They got thin... too thin. Nice milling on those scales though.

Great video as always! I was SO disappointed with my Hinderer XM-18 3" flipper. The action is so bad that you can't thumb flick it or reverse flick it at all. The knife feels clunky, the ergonomics are not good, the lockup is SO deep it's painful to disengage and it is such a bad slicer that my Emerson mini a-100 slices better, and it's basically a folding pry bar. Compare that to when I got my Rosie. I was really excited because I got one on a drop which is hard. Then it got stolen in transit and I received an empty USPS box. Then I had to wait 6 weeks for the insurance claim. Then another week for OZ to make a replacement. When I got the box in the mail I was so frustrated that I was almost over it. BUT it is SO, SO good that I instantly forgot about all the bad. It's as close to a PERFECT knife as I've ever used. I carry it almost every day and I get so happy when I use it.

@@optimuscrime608 I guess you missed my other comment. I had both the Mero and the Kermu and they both had bad failing locks. I haven’t received a knife from them that had a functioning lock. And yes, it does shred pants badly over time, just like the Mero and Kermu I received. By doing mental gymnastics to justify unwise purchases you rob yourself of opportunities to learn and improve. After returning both of the faulty knives that I received from Miguron and Ameight I landed on the Kansept Fenrir, which so far seems like a really excellent knife. I will not be giving Miguron a third chance and I will always be critical of all knife companies rather than doing mental gymnastics to justify an unwise purchase. I usually wear jogging pants with zippers on the front pockets, so knife clips don't work. Switched to a pocket leather knife slip, rectangular, which hides the knife and keeps it upright in the pocket. Slower than clipping to jeans but access is still good and no one needs to know you are carrying. Leave clip on and slide knife under edge, turn knife backwards, or take clip off.

Hi Jay, 3 comments on this text. First, for me my OG Moyarl (storm trooper edition) has an adequate thickness for my mid-sized hands/short fingers, but the Pelora feels thicker eventhough it is only 1 mm wider (13.4 vs 14.4 mm) to the point I don't want to use it. Second, it's been my experience that titanium pocket clips (like the one shown) look very nice, but are always overly stiff, making it hard to slide the knife in and out of the pocket, however, that turns into a real problem when that clip is positioned just like you showed... bad design. Third, I found that the advice you give regarding adding a thumbstud was not really necessary on the Moyarl, but it is really necessary on my CJRB Hectare, and that trick turned that knife from a gadget into an actually useful tool. Cheers!!
@TheKnifeBeater10 ай бұрын
I agree with you about ti clips, they do look nice, but they rarely work well for me. I was able to use my Moyarl without the thumb stud, I just had to reposition to get a good flick. Now, I don't even have to think about it. Yeah, this would work great on the Hectare.

So as far as the titanium version goes, not squeezing on the pocket clip when removing from your pocket will make a world of difference. The clip rest halfway on the solid scale and halfway on the lockbar. The end of the clip on their Mero knife has a more aggressive tip (the part that touches the scale) and it goes in and out of my pants easily with one hand. I understand being disappointed in a knife once it's in hand but to me it seemed like you were exaggerating the clip issue. The "Spongy" lockbar is something I'm unfamiliar with but if it locks up solid and doesn't stick then I'd say it works. Grab yourself a Mero and I think you'll be more pleasantly surprised
@TheKnifeBeater10 ай бұрын

The worst was a direct order from Kizer (although I generally like their models) where I received a Megatherium with lock-rock. I literally, no joke, took that knife apart 9 times.
