I love this group for the impact they left on Hip Hop for centuries going forward. I hate that Q-tip won't stop with the bullshit and work with his brothers. Unfortunately, I had two missed opportunities to meet and just say hello to two people who were responsible for leaving an indelible imprint on hip hop from two opposite spectrums of the hip hop universe. In '05 I went to the Anger Management tour and saw Em killing the stage in Tinley Park,IL. Proof who was responsible for aiding Em in starting his career was two rows behind me next to the sound engineer. I never said hi, and he died less than a year later. And now I have those same regrets with Phife after seeing him at a Puma store launch party in Chicago en route to a De La Soul show he attended later that night. He was literally 15 feet from me. I have video of him there and B-boys in a contest that I have to hunt for.. Anyway I say all this to say, don't be me people. When you see your hero's tell them what the mean to you while you have a chance because you never... You just never know... RIP PHIFE!😢

+Andre Salazar The documentary paints a totally different picture. Q-Tip was mad that Phife decided to move to Atlanta at the height of their careers. It looks like Tip was very controlling & it might've came from seeing how RZA had the Wu members at his command but that was only due to the 5 year plan they agreed on. The tension started when it was time to record "Beats, Rhymes & Life" so it could explain why Tip tried to replace Phife with Consequence & having Dilla basically become Tribe's main producer instead of himSelf. Seems like he tried to sabotage Tribe cuz he couldn't keep everyone under him & it made him bitter. To the point that he even smacked Phife in the documentary. Regardless of how the documentary makes it look, no one in the comments section was there when the initial started after Phife moved. It seems that it was initially a small disagreement on how the next album after their biggest one should be recorded & probably due to having whispers in their ears, it turned into an unresolved beef that will forever complicate the group. The saddest thing is that they have 1 album left in their major label contract...doesn't seem like it'll ever manifest.
