Goku/Kakarot taught us to smile even in the darkest of times. Vegeta taught us to continue getting strong no matter the situation. Piccolo taught us the principles of discipline. Gohan taught us to protect. Krillin taught us to support one another. All of these characters taught us one thing or another throughout the series. And none of it would be possible without the creative talents of this legendary writer and creator, Akira Toriyama. May your work inspire many generations to come.

That day, Goku didn't feel the motivation to fight and felt he lost someone dear to him again. Vegeta didn't care about surpassing Goku. Bulma didn't feel like travelling. Chichi wasn't cheerful. Master Roshi didn't feel like eyeing on girls. Frieza, Majin-buu and other villains didn't want to wreck havoc. Shenron knew even he couldn't bring Him back to life. Nobody was killed that day, but we lost one who shaped the universe of Dragon Ball and our childhood. A story that influenced many modern masterpieces. Thank you, Akira Toriyama. Rest in Peace.

One of the last titans of a rapidly disappearing age of entertainment. A creator who loved his work, even if he had a complicated history with it, Toriyama inspired billions with his stories and art. This is possibly the biggest loss to the world of animanga since Miyura, and Osamu himself. The only bigger loss now would be Arakawa (highest rated Manga of all time) , Urasawa (most brilliantly written Mangas ever), and Oda (longest running highest selling Manga and pride of Japan). But Toriyama paved the way for a whole generation of Shonen Manga and beyond, and fathered a generation. And the most amazing part was that he never intended to, he just liked drawing funny monkey kid doing crazy shit. Yet his art and ideas are so unique you can recognize his work without ever looking at who drew it. Yet it didn't feel derivative, in fact it always looked and felt more original than anythibg else, like a fever dream straight out of Akira's wild imagination. I don't even need to look anything up when I look at a cityscape or robot design to know if Toriyama San drew it. That's how obviously unique his ideas were. There will be many years before we see something like the original DB run ever again. Perhaps never.

I remember my first time riding the highest and fastest roller coaster on earth, the kingda ka, I was terrified, and as it shot forwards at 128 mph, among the screams of everyone else in the car, I just yelled “Kaioken times 10!” 😭. But that gave me the courage to open my eyes, and experience the ride for what it was, Toriyama gave me that courage

Farewell to the father of Shonen. Without him, so many wouldn’t have been inspired to create their own adventures and share them with the world. Akira will be missed and remembered forever for all he’s given us.

Rest in Peace Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z was the first anime I watched back in the days and introduced me to other anime fictions. Dragon Ball Z was the reason why I hate going to school.

I first discovered dragon ball Z when I was in 3th grade, I watched some of the clips when I use KZbin on the TV at my old apartment. After I was in 4th grade, I got into the series and listen to some dragon ball music, I'm a Freshman Now and hearing akira toriyama's passing, Its just sad that he's gone, He made one of the best series ever. Thank you Akira toriyama for everything and our childhood.
