A Silent Voice (Japanese: 聲の形, Hepburn: Koe no Katachi, lit. 'The Shape of Voice') is a 2016 Japanese animated drama film[4] produced by Kyoto Animation, directed by Naoko Yamada and written by Reiko Yoshida, featuring character designs by Futoshi Nishiya and music by Kensuke Ushio.[5] It is based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Yoshitoki Ōima. Plans for an animated film adaptation were announced back in November 2014, Kyoto Animation was confirmed to produce the film in November 2015. Miyu Irino and Saori Hayami signed on as voice casting in May 2016 and the theatrical release poster and official trailer were released in July 2016.

I just watched the movie for the first time yesterday and i absolutely love it 10/10. i can relate to Shoko because i was also being bullied in school because of having a disability. i wish could rewatch a silent voice a million times with no prior memory of it

@@ecologix1533 They showed the emotions of the characters really well. Lots of people found it very relatable and emotional. Personally I've felt the same way the certain characters have and I've been extremely suicidal so i could relate it to myself therefore i cried a lot. it's easier to get really emotional and cry when you understand how the character is feeling. The people who might not have gone through what the characters have can still get emotional because they have lots of empathy even if they might not truly understand. I hope that explanation helps you understand a little.😊 (if anyone would like to add something feel free to bcuz i dont represent everyone)

For those who are here, I also recommend an anime called "I want to eat your pancreas." Entirely contrary to its name, it is one of the most profound and absurdly beautiful things that I have witnessed in my life, and I've witnessed a ridiculous amount of beauty. I like it better than A Silent Voice, which isn't to say that it isn't also one of the most profound and beautiful things I've ever seen either.

I really find her suicide attempt and them meeting after his hospitalization as the best ones; When she were apologising to the mother I really wish the Mother wouold've just hugged her instead of just standing there...

@@imNqt I believe in the manga, it was completely different and they made some changes. Which I think made the scean better. From the way she called shouko's name and her change of attitude from the previous scean, it was like she was holding herself back, It made her just sanding there an act of control, it was all the mother could do to not berate or punish her. The mother couldn't forgive her.which in turn made shouko's apology all the more heart wrenching.
