Didn't learn anything I haven't been doing for years. Okay, decades. If your vehicle has heated mirrors turn them on. The heat will help the water evaporate. A coat or two of wax or Rain-X on the windows, mirrors will allow rain to roll off at speed. Make sure you also get the rear window. If you like there's a de-fogging product you can also apply to the windows' inside surface. In the winter time pull down the sun visors so they're pointing straight down and run the heat through the defroster and put the wipers on intermittent. This will help melt the snow on windshield and keep the wiper blades warm. And occasionally use the washer fluid which should also be warm. I have over 30 years driving a truck of some sort in three different countries.

How to drive saftey. Always wear your seatbelt and make sure all passengers are buckled up as well. Observe the speed limits and adjust your driving according to road and weather conditions. Avoid distractions such as using your phone or eating while driving. Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you to allow for sudden stops or emergencies. Be mindful of other drivers and pedestrians on the road.

I find that if you take off your seat belt in heavy rain, you can move your head and body from side to side so you can look through the windshield just behind the sweep of the wipers. Less raindrops and you get an upper body workout too.

We are not supposed to turn on the flog light as it would impair the vision of the driver in the opposite side. The police will give you a ticket if you do this due to dangerous driving.
