What if they are refusing to use the toilet to pee and refusing to change their soaked diaper? They are capable of doing both but refuse to do it and also refuse assistance.

What I do with my husband is give him couple of minute break and talk to him about something else and then try again. I try to talk about other unrelated things during toileting in an attempt to distract him from what I’m doing. It’s so time consuming daily to sit with him on the toilet that it’s exhausting. I don’t ask him if he wants to go to the toilet because I know his answer would always be no. Same technique doesn’t work always. It takes a lot of persuasion.
