+kevin essling Yes, Pete's a great bloke. He also does a karaoke session in a local club on Friday evenings - we went along on our latest trip, very enjoyable!

Lovely to see the pictures of Little Egrets. Amidst a sad litany of declining wildlife it is good to see one success. In previous times Little Egrets were once rare vagrants from the Mediterranean in this country. The first pair didn't breed until 1996. Since then they have been steadily colonising and extending their range. I think there are now some 700 breeding pairs in southern England.

The first Little Egret I ever saw was on the Hayle Estuary in Cornwall, in 1998 if I remember rightly. It was feeding alongside a Spoonbill. Wish I'd had a camcorder then!
