When i was a kid growing up in the mid 80s and 90s my father used a Gleaner L1 and a L3. Loud, open chains ran everything, with wooden oak wedge chain tensioners. He traded the L3 off for a Case IH 1688 and he said, wow i can hear myself think, and it felt like sitting in his recliner at home. He now runs a Case IH 2388 but i remember him trying to convert over to Case IH, he bought an adapter to run a Case IH corn and bean head on his Gleaner L3 before he bought the Case combine.

On the R62, the rotor was right above your head when you was looking up @ the engine the first time. There should be access hatches in the bottom rear of the hopper & also one in the engine compartment in front of the engine. The throat chain feeds to the rear conveyor chain, which then dumps into the rotor on the right side (facing foward). The crop goes across the rotor & gets dumped out the left side where you was looking above the spinner. I have an R52 & love it. Reliable & great for a farmer to work on because of the simplicity of the design..

We had a 1020 with a 48 loader and 65 scraper on it. It loaded silage out of Ag bags into feed wagons plus scraped and loaded at least one load of manure every day for about 30 years. I would say it was a great little tractor.

JD1010 - that was one of the 1st tractors my father bought. I drove that a lot thru the tobacco fields. My guess is the tachometer has been replaced - I’ve replaced mine on the 2510 at least once and it has stopped working again just recently.

Equipment = eye candy and yes, you're absolutely correct about "us farmers". Krone = expensive but, honestly, lets face it, they're well worth the cost, they really are top quality machines. I remember when you were looking for a new baler and many of us told you to look into Krone... now just look at you... a Krone fan now. LOL I mean this with the utmost respect to you. Gleaner's are solid combines. That 656 hi-crop, mainly used for cultivators. As for the Kubota's... yea, you can keep them, I'll take the Blue over that Orange any day. Now, back in the day, Kubota used to be solid machines now days, not so much. NH has really come along since they took over from Ford.

Miller 5365 owner here. Those things have 76 inches of clearance off the ground. It lifts a few inches when you turn it on as it adjusts the air suspension. Those monobooms are very unstable. If you're not on tabletop ground you may as well take them off and buy an aftermarket truss boom. They bounce +/- 20 inches and the height control will take 5 seconds to correct it. The ride is significantly better than most tractors because every wheel has its own suspension system. If you ever look at buying one stay in the 5000 series or newer as that is when the cab was updated. Moving from a pull type, it feels great until you blow your first wheel motor and you get to spend 23k on a reman and realize that it will never get cheaper.

Sirtex makes that new holland rake. I’ll tell you you’d like the Ogden rakes they are similar but better wheel rake. They are a high capacity the rake is in front of the frame however are like that new holland I’d suggest you take a look. I love my 12 wheel. As well as I’d like to hear what you think.

Spray nozzles behind wheel,I guess would be for glysophate from a separate tank? For marking Tramlines possibly ?
@Caimen02 ай бұрын
Since the boom is in front, the wheels running over weeds etc reduces the effectiveness of the spray. Those nozzles are there to give it an extra dose just to be sure.

That T8040 has a straight, suspended axle in it, not the SuperSteer axle. The SuperSteer wasn't available in a suspended version. The T8000 series New Hollands were the last large frame NH tractors that you could get with the SuperSteer front axle.
@farming4g2 ай бұрын
Those supersteers surprisingly rode well with having a longer wheelbase setup... only downside is more grease points and have to be on top of greasing or things are going to wear out fast.
