Hey Guys, Me, Chief, Ryan, Forest, and John took a little trip to the Bahamas for a few days, we experienced strong winds and rough weather so we were unable to fish, but we did a a-lot of diving and spearfishing gettin a bunch of groupers and snappers. On the ride home we got caught in a storm and stuffed the bow a few times, one of the waves we hit caved in the front of the bow, we started taking in water, and almost sunk 20 miles offshore.... Hope you enjoy!

That deck hanging out over the sponsons is a horrible design. Thts exactly what I would expect taking big waves on the bow like that. The sponsons are too shallow they need to be taller for one!

The "former" overhanging deck forward of the sponsons makes that design a deathtrap in adverse sea conditions. I also noticed how low the stern sat in the water. Be safe. Hope your team gets a different boat.

When the plantains are green and hard , all u have to do is cook them for two minutes on eat side then take them out and flatten them to about 1/4” thick then cook them for about three minutes on each side , take them out and add salt and garlic .

@alfadanhighperformanceoutb8416 Жыл бұрын
Hey Ani, When you make those non ripe plantains, get them golden and then pull them from the oil. Put them between paper or a board and squish them down to like 3/8” thick. You then put them back in the pan and finish frying them. In Spanish they are called Tostones. Don’t over cook them.

The boat is a perfect design for its intended use, i.e. not running downhill at 26mph in an Atlantic storm. Every boat has limitations and looking at that bow it's pretty clear there's not enough freeboard to be out in those conditions. Not really fair to blame the manufacture for the hull failure, after all it is a 16 year old boat. You were what, 4 years old when it was manufactured? How many times has it been stuffed? How many times should it be able to be? Captains call.
@FrankieV772
@FrankieV772 Жыл бұрын
It was only 4-6’ that boat should have been able to handle that at 30kts east. It clearly a poor design and or weak fabrication.
@cspruitt3190
@cspruitt3190 Жыл бұрын
That design doesn't make since to me. The deck that failed looked inadequate for the force it was taking. Those 300s slamming it into water at 20+ is too much for that design. It doesn't make since. It could have been really worse really easily. My opinion. Am i wrong?
@ultimatejay
@ultimatejay Жыл бұрын
@@cspruitt3190 Long story short, they were going way too fast for those conditions. Water is not forgiving you have a 8000lb boat going 30 mph and then you plow the bow into a wave, what do expect is going to happen. Slow the F down and trim tabs up.
@Al-oe8ib
@Al-oe8ib Жыл бұрын
Exactly, looks like a day boat, and that overhang on the bow is just asking for a wave being so close to the water
@robertbrown5019
@robertbrown5019 11 ай бұрын
It almost looks like an aftermarket modification. The forward deck certainly extends too far forward and doesn't have enough support for offshore conditions. But I'm also surprised the captain was using autopilot in those conditions.

i saw the same thing happen on another twin vee years ago. i doubt they will stand behind it i think the company has changed hands since 2007. I had a delimitation issue on a pro sports 25 walk around luckily we made it back in from 40 miles off saint augustine not a fun time... boat builders should be held to a higher standard considering your life is really in their hands when your that far offshore. hopefully they help you get this right tight lines man

Twin Vee is absolutely notorious for this kind of issue. My old captain had bought one to use for Charter and it was a 36. Within the first week we ran out and got into to atleast 4 to 5’s, are deck became a trampoline and both sides of the haul would flex 5 to 6 inches. We personally had creat are own bulkheads. I never recommend twin vee to anyone. They very thin glass and terrible resin. Screw Twin Vee.

Love the show, by the way to cook plantains. GREEN ones NOT BROWN, BROWN are sweeter. You will need a little bit more oil, cook 2 min flip and cook another 2 min on med heat. Then take them out and smash them in between paper towels. they should be no more than 1/4 to 2/3 thick, put a few back in the oil, and wait until they float. Put them on paper towels to suck up the oil and add SALT, Boys and Girls you have TOSTONES, Not plantains those are sweet. these will be crunchy like a cracker, But so TASTY. Enjoy take it from the CUBAN i grew up eating them.

If you knew you were taking on water, I can't believe everyone aboard didn't don PFDs, because when s*** starts to go bad at sea, it goes from bad to worse with Mach 1 speed and you might not have had time to don your jackets. As for the hull damage, I think you seriously need to contact a maritime lawyer about suing Twin Vee for shoddy workmanship.

Are you for real! Sue twin vee. That boat is 16yrs old. I would put a lot of blame on the Capitain. 4-6 ft seas doing some where around 25-30 knots/mph. Shit happens. Not the boat manufacturers falt. Tight Lines.
