what is the purpose of rounding the booby eyes vs leaving them as is? surface area? thanks

That’s the traditional way Booby’s are tied. It is believed the fly moves and wobbles through the water better. I also like the look of rounded eyes. If I feel better about a fly I usually fish it better. Cheers, Phil
