Wow! Alex speaks English fluently. He used to live near my house here in the Philippines, in Taguig City to be exact. My nephew, Bryan, was his school mate or classmate who is now an Army Major in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (PMAer). I am so proud of these two distinguished gentlemen who both came from two different humble families. Salute!

1:59 - Hey Rollie, in the UK we use "check" and "running" side in snooker. Check side is whichever relevant side spin in the given situation can be used to "check" the cueball back off the cushion at a narrower angle, as opposed to "running" side which is the opposite side spin that causes the cueball to run off the cushion at a wider angle. Love your videos man, all the best!

Thanks Austin, much appreciated.

@@RollieWilliams No probs. Hopefully someday you might be able to make a little video with Ronnie O'Sullivan - he did a short series going around the US playing pool himself. Judd Trump or a few others would be awesome too. Players like Jimmy White have played on the pool circuit a lot. You could crowd fund a trip to the UK and make a short series showcasing some snooker.

Lew Cheng Wei I did too I was like I might be crazy but that’s not left , that’s inside (check). But i realized on the second watch he was standing on the opposite side of the table as when he was raking his shot so he said left might’ve been why he said left cause he was at a different angle where from where he was standing

You NEED to get efren some day Edit: yes, I know there are many other great players to choose from, but to get a glimpse into the mind of one of the greatest players to ever wield a cue would be very interesting to watch. I would still definitely watch Earl, Shane, Ralf maybe even bustamante or De Luna. Point is, any pro is interesting to pick their brain and see their specific take on how to play the game Edit 2: y’all need to chill lol. Opinions exist ya know
@diathekedriven5 жыл бұрын
Why? Alex is perfect for this. He's still one of the best, if not the best all round player in the world at just about every discipline of billiards, has one of the purest strokes with tremendous cue ball control, has been at the top for years and years, knows the game better than just about anyone, is clever, witty, articulate, super fun, and speaks English very well. Why do we always want to bring Efren into everything? I'd take Alex in this kind of situation over Efren ANY day...
@doug82375 жыл бұрын
diathekedriven I had the chance to drink and shoot pool with Alex. He’s cool as hell but I agree with comment above. If I ever got the chance to shoot with Efren and pick his brain id take it all day over anyone.
@diathekedriven5 жыл бұрын
@@doug8237 Yeah, that's fair. I appreciate that. I guess I've just grown weary of us trying to shoe horn Efren into everything. There are several players I would choose to play and practice with over Efren. The top guys even nowadays would have WAY more to teach me than I could possibly be able to absorb. If Efren has even more to teach (ostensibly), what purpose does that serve? Just more that we won't even be able to touch on, or more that I won't be able to learn? I'm sticking with Alex.

One of the most upsetting things with these types of videos is when they "play a few racks" to judge Rollie's (for example) skill level, and it's basically Rollie just sitting there watching them run out over and over again. I don't know how tf that's supposed to help them see how Rollie plays. I love that Alex is 1. shooting some low percentage shots for fun because it gives Rollie more table time and 2. actually taking the time to explain his shot selection when he's playing for real. Alex handles this session better than almost anyone else I've seen, on this channel and others.
