Back in the mod, a group of people in a helicopter found me running in a field. Held me up, cuffed me, put sack over my head, flew me crazy far north where there are no trees, broke my legs, gave me food, water and a saline. If you enter their ring of detection - if they sense you’re there - they’ll pursue you and attack without any action on your behalf. It’s the same system as the wolves in DayZ but bears seem to have a much smaller perimeter of detection. Hope that answered your question.
