Thank you for this tutorial Karen! I have many photographs of stain glass from Cathedrals I have visited but always felt I could never paint them. I now realize I can try paInting them in a semiabstract way.

Such a great idea to use a stained glass window design for watercolor swatches. They are a repeating motif in my sketchbooks. I also did it to test new watercolor pencil set 😊but never watercolors, it seemed too daunting. I can appreciate it as a good exercise in brush and paint control.

What a fab idea … inspired by a church in Saumur per chance 😉?! I have so many watercolours that don’t get used as they’re unusual colours (but beautiful) so this is a great project. Your stonework surround is spot on. Can’t wait to go random on this one 😜👏😘! Big thanks.

So pleased you like this one Chris, and yes, what a great idea to use all those random colours that we scarcely use and have a go at painting this beautiful stained glass window in the St Pierre church in Saumur. Great spot by the way 😊💕

Oooh Karen, this is gorgeous, and what a great idea for a subject! Were you able to paint it in one sitting, or did it take you longer? Thank you 😊❤

Thank you so much! I did wait for it to dry on several occasions. It took me about two hours in full. Hope this was helpful.

At 18:00, a spirit face appears very clearly in the wash on the blocks on the right. Your angel watching over you? I think maybe!
