First time i was aware of punk was a Yugoslav band PEKINŠKA PATKA (BEIJING DUCK) from Novi Sad (Serbia), i was smitten-immediatly. I loved everything, from image til sound. Never lost that feeling, never mind which kind of musik it is, if it's weird and different-i'm your man. Love the docs about less known scenes, Canada was my entrance to hardcore, thank you D.O.A. (i know they come from different part of that wast country) Anyway, i'm 56 and i!m infected witht punk virus for the rest of my life

I've been looking for this '' middle eastern punk scene'' for years... there are some cool bands who sing in arabic, like Haram or Mazhott. what you can find on the internet (I also asked some friends) it's clearly not a scene , I thought about it after reading your comment...punk subjects mostly originate from the misery of living in postmodern metropolis, the mirror of our rotten and consumerist societies, which are seeking a distorted idea of progress, dwelling and human interaction. focused on a dystopian representation of modern life, punk describes a broken humanity, not a totally devastated reality, as the one you can find in the middle east war-zones. that's why I think it's easier now to find rap or metal in middle east ,but not a real punk ''scene'' yet.
