You have me heartfelt sympathy and (for what it is worth) my unqualified support. You provide a worthwhile service in keeping a historical tradition alive and exposing potential new fans who would otherwise balk at buying an album they are unfamiliar with, in a genre that (lets face it) while mesmerising to the like of us... probably sounds like a load of hoots and squawks to those unfamiliar with the history and quality of male high voices. You have done nothing wrong.. you only educate and so broaden the appeal of a niche genre of music. You heighten the singers' profiles - helping their live concert careers which is their bread and butter. And you also bring to our attention long dead composers whose music would be condemned to languish in dusty libraries and private collections (as it has for many hundreds of years), without people like you to promote them. The record companies should be thanking you and sending you sneak previews of forthcoming works for distribution. Not condemning you. Good luck to you. My best regards Paul

When a child, I was a boy soprano with a range extending up to A6 (a'''). My timbre was soft; my color was warm. Puberty didn't stop me from keeping the ability, even though I became the subject of ridicule. Nevertheless, I prayed fervently about whether the Lord willed that soprano tessitura or not. It's always been a gift to glorify Him, rather than to be like a woman. I discovered Dr. Stephen Westmoreland's You Tube channel in 2007-an absolute Godsend. I learned how I should label myself (id est, 'sopranist' and not 'male soprano'), and that I wasn't alone. (E. g. contraltist Andreas Scholl understood from a Christian standpoint.) Peoples' reactions have remained mixed, albeit I am better equipped now than before. It is just horrid that the subject of high male and certain female voices isn't worthy of the United States government's time. The topic, while morbid apropos ignored castration of prepubescent boys under Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Islam, simultaneously leaves some of the most beautiful repertoire singers could/can find. (I am actually drawing up a fictional castrato, voiced by male soprano Radu Marian, to explore through play-by-post role-playing.) Dr. Westmoreland, thank you for the efforts that you've gone so people such as me can maturely grasp an obscure sliver of history. I can't obtain formal vocal training due to physical disabilities, but I'm proud I no longer am forced to belt out public school works which didn't suit my soprano-even baritone-sound *ever.* Hopefully, greed shall someday leave record companies' minds.

As a kid I used to love classical music, but I had a very bad music teacher in school when I was young. Someone very frustrated with her own failed career that constantly told me that I sucked at music, had no musical hear whatsoever etc. She made me loose all interest in music. One day I watched the movie Farinelli and completely fell in love with the castrati and the baroque repertoire. On YT, this channel gave me the opportunity to explore this newly found passion. We can say that it gave me the means to fall in love with music again. It may seem stupid, but classical music (and therefore this channel) had such an impact on my life. Thanks to my renewed interest I found love (an opera singer known during a concert!), I entered an environment that makes me incredibly happy and I restarted studying music. And all of this also thanks to the musical education this channel could provide. The videos are always accompained by descriptions, references and such, helping people to discover this very niche kind of music that wouldn't otherwise be easy to discover and to deeply study. To the owner of the channel, thank you so much for everything. If there's something I can do I'll gladly help!

sfkcbf is one of the few worthwhile YT channels dedicated to the male voice (which is why we subscribe to it and have often promoted its content). It seems unfair to target the channel in this way, especially as much of its content is not readily available elsewhere - if at all.

Perhaps, it is a bit late in the game. But, I would love to add my Support to all those who came before me who voiced theirs on this channel. I counted a singular honor to have corresponded with this gentleman a couple of times in the past. I learned so very much from him about this fascinating subject of which so few credible and well thought out resources are available. To find after something of a hiatus from the subject that he has put together such an excellent and tasteful channel of wonderful resources on the male soprano is no surprise whatsoever to me. I cannot imagine having expected anything less from him.

I just want to add that on the contrary this channel and some others introducing hidden treasures to the people who otherwise might have never even stumbled at them as it's not advertised, never shown on TV or in tiny doses as an exception in some musical programmes watched again by very few...contributes to sales of recordings worldwide as the musical market is just HUGE now! It's difficult to sell even POP if it's not a big name, let alone if there are recordings but the majority of all the people in the world don't even know that high male voices EXIST and don't understand what the term e.g. "countertenor" means... I myself even though enjoy CT voice in general and am very interested in new discoveries, also have a "specialty" on YT - high male voices...I am a very fastidious buyer and won't just buy ANY CT or DVD with CTs without listening to their voices on YT first, and I still buy MUCH! On this very channel I discovered for myself some of my favourites, e.g. Marian, Christofellis, Wong, some others...And if I'm very impressed I always want to OWN the recording and also don't want to depend on YT and their games as today I can listen to a somewhat masterpiece and tomorrow it can not be available anymore because the channel is closed or it's deleted, or something, so what do I gain?!....:(

That's such a shame! There are so few available resources dedicated on male sopranos, channels such as this shouldn't be suffocated! Besides, sharing this music freely does not impact the revenues of any record labels (most of them are just brief extracts after all)
