So as I was rendering this video. I was notified that the FOLON Dev team had just released a major patch to the mod. So I want to clarify that while I do talk about my personal experience with bugs and crashes in the mod, they may not affect you the same way after future updates. YOU ALSO DO NOT NEED BUFFOUT. Buffout was not included in Fallout London when I reviewed the game, but now is included with the full package. Make sure to check the mod's updates before adding anything further! Either way, I enjoyed my time with London, and I hope you do too!

On the quests they say they will be adding a few new ones, adding a lot of exposé on different factions to help pacing and fixes to some areas come the last update to help. I agree that the prilladog dog factory needed work to flesh it out.

I'm going to be honest, to me this whole "Fallout can't exist without it's iconic americana" was just a bunch of nonsense that Todd keeps saying to justify abusing stuff like Power Armor, Pipboy, Brotherhood of Steel, Super Mutants etc as a crutch for Emil's god awful writing and his lack of creativity. Fallout CAN work outside the US, and as London just proved it can work really well.

It is definitely Fallout. But if it had released as a Non-Fallout Total Conversion I'd still think it was good.
@mekelle87573 ай бұрын
It’s not only Todd, a lot of people feel that way. I think fallout could definitely be out of the country but only in specific nations that have a lot of diversity as to not limit character creation

I think the folon team did the right thing leaning heavily into british history and pop culture to fill that void.

It’s always been a lazy non-answer. They just don’t want to bother actually being creative. That would require effort. We can’t have that at Bethesda Studios.

My experience playing the game was similar to yours. I could go for hours without crashing and then suddenly the game turned into a bug happy crashfest. However, not once did I have to resort to console commands to complete a quest or get myself through a rough patch ...and that's saying a lot for a fan made game. The side quests range from good to pretty good to WTF?? My Fallout experience was a mixed bag of awe and amazement to total frustration at just trying to get from point A to point B. In Fallout 4 one can walk from one end of the map to the other and back again, but in London I never felt like I was exploring an open world; probably because you aren't. You're always in a cell and your next destination probably involves a loading screen. The main story was interesting and engaging and while I enjoyed it; I can't say I loved it. The ending was so very British ...reminiscent of something from a 1960's British TV series like The Avengers or The Prisoner which I so loved back in the day. All in all I have to applaud the development team for creating the incredible world they created. By all rights Fallout London should have never seen the light of day. It was TOO big and TOO ambitious, but by God they pulled it off and while I enjoyed playing it very much I could never quite shake the feeling that I should be out mowing the lawn or something.

4:00 Fallout: Sonora, Fallout: Dayglow, take place in both the united states and Mexico these mods are equivalent to an entire new game outright also new Vegas bounties exists and its a long mod series outright dlc sized and also also the two big survival mods for new Vegas and fallout 4 taking place after the game and long long before the game series starts and those are the only three large mods that come to mind for the 3d and 2d parts of the series OH OH I ALMOST FORGOT fallout new California witch is a fan made prequel mod for new Vegas and is pretty good (it was known as project Brazil) (its also dlc sized) (it also connects fallout 3 and new vegas)

What it does right the most is make me excited to play Fallout again. I've played them all as they've released and I am loving this as much as New Vegas and I'm happy to ignore the faults because it is a fan creation and not a corporately polished but also not as adventurous as this was. Recreating everything is genius, makes it all feel so new and exciting.

Once he did his speel, I just thought 'Naah, forget this', and let Lee Enfield do what he did best... I was just impressed they let me do it & just carried on

I do like Fallout projects taking place outside the U.S. After all, war happens everywhere. But the narrative focuses heavily on America and its history. War started its history. Boston was the birthplace, Washington D.C was patriotic. Yes, many nations formed due to wars. Like mine: Sweden. Or even existing nations that reformed, like France. But the fact that America is deeply patriotic and fundamental, despite over 200 years of chaos, shows that they don't want to give up. Also, I have been looking at some gameplay from FO: London, and at certain locations it looks too pristine. It also focuses alot on British pop-culture that is almost immersion-breaking. Wombles? Frescos? Idk, I like how at times it feels like Twilight Zone, something that vanilla Fallout does well. But there's Also something that is of putting. No, I haven't played it, but I can tell these guys wanna pay homage to GB inside a game that takes place after a nuclear war.

They may CURRENTLY have only been set in the US - but the lore canon says the whole world was nuked; so the only thing holding more exploration into other cultures back has been Bethesda. Though honestly, since nothing of the world has really gone past the cobbled together swiss cheese point and most cultural landmarks have been screwed - one could argue one plot of irradiated sterile landscape is basically the same as any other. Fallout in the Rain Forest; I might sign up for. * If it's Fallout London = can people still drink the tea? Or is that a little too cheeky... ** The united states fought rather viciously for it's own independance mate; now a days, you might win against the British Army - maybe. Back when Washington was alive = good luck. (I get that it's parody, but there is historical significance you're actually pissing on when you do that shit. Be aware of it) Yes, I'm Canadian, and yes... we're still very technically Britain's Bitch. : / [Even if the "great" Elizabeth 2 WAS stupid enough to nuke almost all of her actual "royal" powers - except the right to veto any law we want to make. Reigning overlong doesn't actually mean you were a good ruler... For example, a good ruler would've abdicated around 55 or so, so that her son wasn't fucking necromantic by the time he took the throne - which will cause another conundrum in about a decade at best. Gah. A truly good ruler would've passed the crown to William. Who has enough age in experience to rule NOW, without being a step off from death = and Charles should also have been wise enough to know his chance at it had well and truly passed.]

1:00 Another big mod project is Fallout California that finished besides frontier and London. I played through Fallout: California myself and I enjoyed it a lot. Their's a good big mod project besides frontier before the release of London. 0:49 I might be a bit nitpicky with the sematics here.... Is the reason you included Fallout New Vegas as one of the "Bethesda" Games on Nexus top modded games because it runs on the same engine as other bethesda games? I bet you do already know that FNV was made by obsidian and just did it for shorthand in how many Gambryo/creation engine games are on Nexus modding. Man i feel like I'm being overbearing on very small detail on this vid. Just felt like this could of been worded differantly so that your point you wanted to make would be complety true and not partially true by technicality. I feel the devil is in the details and when you take small shortcuts like that in your script instead of having that line rewritten to be completly correct. it can stack up with more innacuracies over time if not diligent in writing the script.
