Checkout Eric Rosen's video and subscribe to his channel: • Dumb & Dirty London Op...
The actual video footage of Sumit Sourav vs Anirban Dasgupta game: • COMEDIANS on BOARD DAY...
The last thing that IM Sagar Shah expected when he went to commentate on the Comedians on board stream was to learn about opening novelties! There would be fun, there would be frolic, there would be blunders, but the comedians coming up with a new opening idea was not something to be expected! As things panned out, this is exactly what happened and Anirban Dasgupta unleashed a very dirty opening trick against the London! And this trick was actually taught to him by Vaibhav Sethia! How did Vaibhav learn it? How did this idea come about? IM Sagar Shah explores it in this video! It's not the best opening in the world, but it is a sly trap to win against the London in 3 moves!

It's a deadly trap if you play London system in auto-pilot. The solution is h3 by white, to make space for the bishop retreat to h2, and you'll be fine. Also in this line its better to not castle, and give the h-file for rook activity incase black castles king-side.

@cu7695
@cu7695 4 жыл бұрын
@@morpheus2953 I agree, population isn't indicator of intelligence. Although you can find rare talent within that percentage. Magnus has 5-6 move traps and better endgame because of two reasons. 1 Ability for pattern recognition ( Most GM's achieve that ) 2 Pure hard work ( In his initial days when he defeated Anand he was preparing obsessively ) Eventually someone will surpass him. Recently Ding Liren, Hikaru defeated him.

This must be inspired by the 4.h4 move in the Bf5 variation of the Caro Kann Advanced, where the natural e6 by black traps his Bishop 😁 but this is not so bad as pointed out already by someone. When the knight gets to f4 via e2 after the capture, white has two pawns for the piece, black's kingside pawns are weak and it's difficult to develop the bishop to its natural d6 square before protecting the d5 pawn. Not as bad as in the Caro Kann perhaps but far from a London player's dream 😊

A more effective trap would be to capture the c4 c4 bishop by mirroring this trap on queen side of the opponent tries to act oversmart and go for scholar's mate, this way instead of king side, wish side would open up and would be great for attacking

It was good to learn about this trap. It must be known to players of both sides of the London. But I fail to see the point of all this enthusiasm and hype about Anirbhan playing it. It is a fact that the Internet is a wonderful resource, lot of people learn lot of such things on a daily basis and implement in their life. Not sure why this particular case deserves so much hype.
