I get why this was emotional for Kevin. When all you've seen from people for the majority of your life is betrayal after betrayal and zero shits given for you on a human level, it's overwhelming when a genuine act of kindness comes your way that you can't attribute to anything other than someone doing something nice for you. As Men this doesn't happen often for us, so do us a favour and don't judge when it hits us for six emotionally.

I don't agree. This is a human experience, and most of us can relate regardless, because most people have one, or even several loves in their life that just bring pure joy to them. Something they can put themselves into. Like a cook or chef being gifted a set of hand pounded and folded knives, a gear head being gifted a built or restored car or bike, or a pool player being gifted a custom made cue. It's the love of the experience (cooking, driving or mechanics, playing pool, in this case playing music) coupled with the appreciation of someone else's experience, in these cases the love for designing and building of guitars, and then having that gift shared with you. Appreciating the work put in, and the love that was given with that gift. It works for anything, not just instruments.

This is so inspiring. I've been a musician all my life but have "put it down" several times for extended periods of time. I recently picked up the bass and gave my son an electric guitar for his birthday. We play together and I teach what little I can. I love that you clearly are growing and people in your circle are encouraging it. This gift will most definitely inspire you to grow more and possibly pay it forward for some other lucky dude in the same boat. Kudos man.

It's so nice to see emotion around this community and for people to be able to see that die-hard metal fans are very human and are so passionate about music. It's so cool to see you be so goddamn happy you cry. That feeling is so euphoric. I remember when I went to my first real drum shop. My mom surprised me with a brand new Mapex kit. I had been begging for a new kit to replace my old cheap one. I cannot describe to you the mark that left on me and my love for music. That feeling of pure happiness is something you can never get over. It's amazing. So great to see other people experience this.

I'm beginner guitar player so I've been watching some videos online and the algorithm recommended you to me. I'm like "hey I remember that guy!" lol. As someone who knows basically nothing, this was a great video to watch. Glad to see you're doing well, man and congrats on everything! Keep the inspiration and humility coming!

Kick ass man. Ola Englund just seems to be the nicest most down to earth dude in metal. Always seems to be so humble and remembers his roots. I hope he sees this as I’ve been a huge fan for years. I’m a left handed guitarist and his company even caters for us minority guitar players

Kevin, this was genuinely one of the most heartwarming videos I've seen this week. Your passion and genuine gratitude is in every frame of the video. MASSIVE congrats on the axe, man, it looks _killer_ ! I'll be getting basically the same guitar in his Explorer series at the end of this month and can't wait to unbox that! Cheers from Pittsburgh, brother!

I remember back in 2013 I watched your perverse suffering cover from cannibal corpse when you used to play a Jackson RR model, regardless if it was a low quality video it was enough for me to subscribe, now that I see your channel growing up I can tell you deserve that guitar, it's been 11 years of constant activity on your side which sooner than later should've shown the result of your efforts, keep shredding man, maybe one day I might upload a few videos also, you've shown me what hardwork really means and you deserve all these rewards that most of us might find hard to reach but our biggest satisfaction is keep watching this guy shredding the hell out of his guitars

what's funny is people assume by looks, but it's because they don't know the discipline it takes to achieve these types of goals and people that have that kind of discipline are, well, have you ever talked to Chuck Liddell? He's from around here...he's chill af. If anything, discipline will give you a more even temperament that modulates any situation you're in, rather than being this object that somehow solves some problems. Point is, you have to focus huge amounts of spiritual, emotional, and physical effort to do some things and when people walk themselves through those crucibles they not only get an awareness of agony but what it means to a human and that it happens to ALL humans even if they have good game face. It's not just about discipline, it's not just about moments of clarity, it's not just about experience as a raw function of time. Most people walking around can look in your face and maybe feel some of it, but if you are awake and convulsing on the ground...and then you see someone enduring the same horror...it's not even empathy at that point, it's your own body vomiting up its own level of agonizing baggage which may or may not be purged - can one purge one's own brain and continue to human along with the rest? The problem in trying to create the image in people's heads who have not pushed themselves (or be subjected/committed to without your consent and you survive it) into those areas of the psyche, that honestly, most first world people have the luxury of not developing, ignoring, whatever that piece is inside of you that learns, grows, and evolves in response to your need to have it. You don't have to be in life/death operational situations, but that's where the probability that you're gonna have one of those things happen is massively increased. I saw someone with a TENS unit in their armpit with the nodes running up into their neck...I started crying because I know how bad that hurts. And then on the other hand, I'm so ugly I guess that all I have to do is walk the wrong way and people say they'threatened. I'm not even big, I'm just beat up.
